Paul Gilmour | 25 comments What is your fav Matthew Reilly book? I would have to say Ice Station, it influenced me to write my first book.

I really enjoyed Matthew Reilly's earlier books - I started off with Scarecrow, then into Ice Station and the others. Can't say I was as excited about the Jack West series though. I still have 2 to read....

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) I loved Contest. Jack West novels are probably second, Scarecrow third. It's a close second and third though.

Paul Gilmour | 25 comments I did enjoy the Jack West Jnr series and Temple was good too. Never read Contest, guess I better

message 5: by Katie (new)

Katie Beitz (KatieBeitz) | 30 comments Contest was good - I like the Scarecrow series better. As a teacher, I love giving his books to boys to read. Best description - like an action movie on speed!

Deb | 219 comments I just read Tournament, and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Can't beat a Reilly book for non-stop action.

Michelle (shelld79) | 144 comments I really enjoyed Temple and also Contest. I got to a point where I refused to put Temple down for about half a day just to get it finished!

Suzie | 479 comments My favourite was Ice Station and I enjoyed the Scarecrow series, but his book The Tournament is the best I've read since.

David Ross Wood (goodreadscomdavidrosswood) | 14 comments Area 7 is the only Matthew Reilly book I have read so far and while I found the characters a little one dimensional there was no doubt it was non-stop action. Certainly want to read Ice Station and Contest after reading other members comments.

Jackmeister | 695 comments Area 7 for me but anything Scarecrow will do and Jack West Jr, doesn't really matter they're all great, looking forward to The Great Zoo of China, sounds great!

Michelle (shelld79) | 144 comments I also can't wait to read The Great Zoo of China. I always look forward to a new Matthew Reilly book!

An excellent interview with Matthew Reilly as he talks about life and his new book, The Great Zoo of China and how it came into being...

The Great Zoo of China

I enjoyed it Paul; a real adventure story where you suspend belief during reading;)

message 20: by Neilr (new)

Neilr | 1 comments Ice Station was definitely my favourite.

message 21: by Ernest (new)

Ernest | 25 comments My favourite is Seven Deadly Wonders, just shading The Six Sacred Stones and The 5 Greatest Warriors. I have yet to read one of his books that I really didn't like - his weakest is still stronger that some authors' best.

Katie Ice Station!

Ice Station is one of my favourites too Katie:)

message 24: by Ben (new)

Ben Wise Temple The first Matthew Reilly book I read and I still consider it his best. I inhaled it in a single sitting and things haven't been the same for me since.

I read it a long time ago Ben, but loved it too!

message 26: by Elias (new)

Elias Zanbaka | 862 comments Man, this is kind of like asking a parent which one of their kids is their favourite. It'll probably have to be a tie between:

Ice Station
Scarecrow
Scarecrow Returns

I will say that out of these three, Scarecrow was the one that genuinely shocked and surprised me the most, especially with where it took the characters and the fact that it was and probably still is the most action-packed book I've ever read.

Loved the first two, but still haven't read the third on your list :)
