Lanelle | 462 comments Each month we will read a public domain book in a certain genre, about a particular subject, or by an specific author. Report which book or story you've decided to read. Feel free to discuss what you're reading and the author's writing style. Don't forget to leave a review of your selected work.

I happened across Happy Public Domain Surprises while on Listopia. I was amazed to see a link to our group with an invitation to join! I looked to see who started the list, and was disappointed to see the person had been deleted :(

This month, let's read a book from the list. Feel free to vote and add books to the list. The instructions say that books should be "generally less well known".

I'm super excited about this month's read.

I'm also sorry to hear that the person had been deleted.

I had a quick glance at the list and there are two books that stood out to me.

1. The Lady of the Basement Flat
2. Patricia Brent, Spinster

What about you, Lanelle?

I'm very curious about that person. I imagine they had some ties to this group.

I might re-read Prince or Chauffeur? A Story of Newport or The Firefly of France. And I love the title The Semi-Attached Couple and the Semi-Detached House. I looked at the blurb. It sounds fun.

Lanelle | 462 comments Well, I decided to read Prince or Chauffeur? A Story of Newport. I think it's a great little story. It has a bit of everything in it; a handsome soldier, military maneuvers, a pretty girl, some espionage, and interfering friends.

The book sounds interesting. I've downloaded it to read it as soon as possible. I really like your book recommendations. Thanks a million, Lanelle!

Patricia Brent, Spinster It was a nice light novel. I agree with Alisha's Review

The Lady of the Basement Flat It was an amazing book. I totally agree with you, lanelle. The opening lines of this book caught my attention and I couldn't sit still until I finished the book.
