Angie (goodreadscomangie) | 2 comments Hi everyone! You may have seen me on the forums as Readermax and gotten to know me. If not, then now's your chance! I love reading (obviously), writing, and taking pictures. And, of course, BC! I discovered BookCrossing after reading a book called "Book Scavenger". The book hunting game in the book was based off of BC. I read this in the Author's Note at the end, and the rest is history! Well, that's my introduction!

Kate | 4 comments Hi Readermax! I'm Kate here but on Bookcrossing I'm Trojanhorse. Nice to see you on Goodreads too. :)

message 3: by Reyna (new)

Reyna Hi Readermax & Trojanhorse,

I'm Queen72 on BookCrossing and I just joined in October. I'm having a blast learning about BookCrossing.

message 4: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Book Scavenger? Why have I never heard of this?

message 5: by K M (new)

K M | 99 comments Welcome, Readermax. I am Pashmack at BC, although it has been awhile since I've popped into Book Talk or Chit Chat. Here I am just KM. I've never heard of the book either. Was it written by a BCer?

I'm not sure

R J Royer (rjroyer) | 5 comments Hello everyone!

I just noticed the group and am a member of both bookcrossing and here so I figured I would join and see if anyone wants to get to know what's happening in the middle of nowhere Arizona.

message 8: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ah, yes. So many people who live in cities don't understand that there are still lots of people living in 'nowhere' or 'the outback.' I live in Carson City, NV and people seem to think I'm near Las Vegas, as they totally forget about all the wilderness and outposts in between.

I heard it's unseasonably cold down there... I know it is here. I'm tired of winter already and will need an escape next month if this keeps up! How are you doing?

message 9: by Edwina (new)

Edwina Book Anaconda | 260 comments Hello all.
I'm book_drunkard on BC.
Please feel free to send me a friend request on here or on BC.

Kathleen Jowitt | 3 comments Hi all - I've been on Goodreads for about a year but it's only just occurred to me to look for a BookCrossing group on here.

message 11: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) It's too bad we're not more busy, but welcome anyway!

message 12: by Inge (new)

Inge (wandering-inge) | 2 comments Hi everyone - wandering from BC dropping in! I've been a bookcrosser for 15 years come September and this year I've joined GR as well. Mostly because I discovered BookTube, which led to a new found enthusiasm for reading and a rapid ascent out of a reading slump. So yay!

message 13: by Moriquen (new)

Moriquen | 2 comments Hi, everyone! I'm Moriquen on BC as well. I've been an active bookcrosser for more then 10 years, but there have been times when I was a little less active. I've started my own LFL this summer and it is packed with BC-books!

message 14: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Brady (minesayn) | 162 comments Hi, All. I am minesayn over at bookcrossing. Welcome, and just get out and do it. I live in an area where I may be one of the few bookcrossers, but that doesn't deter me.

Check out the forums and you will learn from other members; that's what I did and it made a big difference. Everyone has a love of books and sharing them, too. I think that is why there are so many of us on both sites.

I'm Carole888 (on BC) from Australia. I have not always been active on Goodreads but thought I'd check out the groups while doing some updates. Great to find you all here! :)

Wendy's Wanderings Hello I am PaDutchTravel on BC. I wasn't releasing any books for quite sometime just too much going on. I am just starting to release books again. Look forward to getting to know everyone!

Grada (BoekenTrol) (boekentrol) | 5 comments Hi all!
I think you know me, but... nevertheless a short introduction.
I'm BoekenTrol @BC, living in the north of The Netherlands. I've been a BookCrosser for nearly 14 years, so when you take into account that you start BookCrossing to get rid of your books read, you may have a slight idea of what MTBR looks like now.

I'm working hard on getting it down, and last year it worked well. Never change a winning strategy, so I keep up the good work in 2021.

I work full time, from home since March 2020 due to the global circumstances. We have made a long time wish come true last year: we now have a dog :-) He's adorable, but quite a hand full as well. Giving me less time to read and perform my other hobbies. But the love I get instead absolutely makes up for that!

message 22: by Dace (new)

Dace ჯ (dacejav) | 10 comments Hi, I am dacejav on Bookcrossing. I joined BC only in March this year, I have also started to use GR actively only this year. Actually, it was one of my challenges this year to mark all the books I read on GR :-) nice to meet you all!

Carol (§CoverLoverGirl§) (coverlovergirl) | 7 comments Hi Dace and others still active on here. I’m in Ireland. I believe I’m Cabu on BC where I sent off a few books earlier this year. It was my first time and I bought all the stuff needed to send them off safely wrapped in the plastic bag. So far, I feel they have sunk without trace as I’ve not received or seen any mention of them on BC. Never mind, I might try again as I have so many books on shelves, on top of cupboards, on floors etc. I’ve been on Goodreads for a few years and have bought many books that have been read and recommended on there. Currently I’ve a stack TBR in the region of 100 and just ordered another, Amor Towles latest, The Lincoln Highway. I loved his Rules of Civility, but left off reading A Gentleman in Moscow as it was a bit slow for my needs at the time. Since lockdown I’ve been in a reading slump but still ordered books that attracted me. Currently, as a result of being absorbed in Netflix KDramas during COVID, I’m interested in Korean and Japanese authors. With all my current books that I’ve finished reading I’d love to send them off into the “wild blue yonder” and see where they go, just like a “message in a bottle” thrown into the ocean. Usually I take my “read” books to a charity shop where I often buy more used books. However, I’d like the excitement of seeing how far away they could go.

I’d like to see more activity here in Goodreads BookCrosser group. Have a Great day wherever you are BookLivers.

Dace ჯ (dacejav) | 10 comments Hi Carol! It's nice that my intro provoked you to write a chatty reply. I am still a newbie but I have already understood that wild releases are rarely journaled :( None of my wild releases have been journaled so far (though they were picked up quickly). So I have concentrated on controlled releases instead, but that portion of bookcrossing fun has also been hit recently by the new EU customs regulations, increased postage, lock-downs etc. I am now concentrating on swapping books in local book swaps and on book exchange shelves.
It sounds interesting about the KDramas and Korean and Japanese books. I only watched a little episode from a K-Drama and it was all too "dramatic" for my liking if you understand what I mean. But it is great that they provoked your interest in Korean and Japanese literature.

Elin Korneliussen | 20 comments Hi!
I've been a Bookcrosser for many years, but haven't been active for a long time. Recently I discovered a new book kiosk in my home town, and I decided that was a good opportunity to get back into Bookcrossing :)

message 26: by Sandy (new)

Sandy | 1 comments Hi!
I was thrilled to find BookCrossing.com one year ago. We are full time RVers, on a great adventure traveling the USA, with no room to save books. One of the hardest things to get rid of as we cleaned out our house was our family library. BookCrossing allows me to “let go” but stay connected to books by placing them in our world library to share. And how fun is it to make someone’s wish come true by randomly sending them a book on their wishlist?! Although I read most books on Kindle these days, as it works best in our lifestyle, I sure do enjoy holding a hard copy which now also provides the fun of participating in BookCrossing. I’m happy to find this group in GoodReads. Thank you! ~ SandyPA

Carol (§CoverLoverGirl§) (coverlovergirl) | 7 comments Hi

Sandy, I’m jealous of your RV home and travel lifestyle, wish I could do similar. Where on Bookcrossing can I find the list of books that other people want to read? That would be a good way for me to clear out some of my surplus books and make room for the most recent purchases which are stacked on the floor, coffee table etc.

Sorry if my posts are “too chatty” and off topic.

message 28: by Dace (new)

Dace ჯ (dacejav) | 10 comments Hi Sandy! I also found bookcrossing only last year. My family really wants to travel the States this way, but it is just a dream at the moment.

Carol, you can find the wishlist search here: https://www.bookcrossing.com/searchbo...

(I just entered The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo as an example)

Another way is to use the forum "(Not-So-) Random Acts of BookCrossing Kindness": https://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/10

People often post the books they want to give away there.

Carol (§CoverLoverGirl§) (coverlovergirl) | 7 comments Dace, thanks for that information, hopefully I can fulfil someone’s wishes for a book they want to read.

Emelie Jansson (Bokbyteri) (emeliejansson) | 1 comments Hello!
I'm EmelieJansson at bookcrossing as well and I've been a official bookcrosser the last year, that's when I found out about bookcrossing. Before then i exchanged books, without knowing about Bookcrossing. I'm from Sweden and live just outside Stockholm. I'm also having a Instagram account connecting to swapping books: Bokbyteri
Check it out if you want to find places to bookcross books in Sweden :)

message 31: by Janet (new)

Janet (janet_heil) Hello. I'm latching onto this post to introduce myself. I was an active member of Bookcrossing years ago and have just re-activated my account, redjanet. I was inspired to do so on a recent trip to Italy where we had our daily breakfast at a lovely cafe that was an Official Bookcrossing zone! It reminded me of the happy times I had when Bookcrossing so decided to give it another go and see what happens.

I took part in bookcrossing project about two years ago. Unfortunately I can share only one book to Netherlands and don’t know about its future destiny..I hope everything is good.
And now I’ll try to share another books with smbd. My nickname the same - larissolb

message 34: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Brady (minesayn) | 162 comments Welcome to you all. I've been a bookcrosser since 2009, and I am minesayn there.

So many books wild released never get journaled, I'm afraid. I have had a few over the years, but mostly I bookcross with other members. The ones I wild-release I give them up for lost (not to be journaled), but every once in a while, I am pleasantly surprised.

Just enjoy your time there (and here).

message 35: by Dolores (new)

Happy reading!
