Read volume 1. Exactly as described, and fairly amusing.

The pace is pretty breakneck though, and I wish more time was spent on each new development.

(view spoiler)[ Instead of this being about the reborn main char starting out as a weak slime having to figure out how to compensate, he starts out as a weak "looking" slime with incredible powers he simply has to figure out how to use. I'm sure it's easier to write that way and lends itself to more comedy and Shounen appropriate adventures, but the other way would've been more interesting. (hide spoiler)]

Read the first two volumes. I'm with Mike, it does move at a really fast pace. I kind of like the insanity and the fact that it's aware of just how crazy some of the world's logic is.
