I've read several articles about "The Power Grid" & it doesn't really seem to be a solid thing, but ever-changing & poorly understood. Hook ups & sharing seem to change for many reasons from economics to regulations to infrastructure. Some of it seems awfully solid while it's a miracle that other parts work at all.
A lot of our critical systems seem to operate the same way. Not long ago I read an essay about the issues drilling another water main. It discussed the current big pipes & their issues, too. "Save water, shower with a friend" & other old signs are still around from the water problems in the 50s. It was pretty bad for some, but not catastrophic. If one of the pipes went out today, it would be, though. How much EMP sensitive equipment is required to run this system? If anyone could answer the question, I doubt they would due to security concerns.
Anyway, I think that illustrates 2 major problems with answering April's question. If one system goes down, how many other systems are affected? How much & how badly?
Then there are people. The blackout caused riots which stress systems even more. Police, fire, medical, & communication systems get overloaded trying to contain the riots & looting. Business & economic losses make recovering harder, too. Honestly, it's just scary. I'm glad I live out in the country.

If you take the Green Line from the Salt Lake City International Airport to the Temple Square TRAX station downtown, you’ll be within walking distance of the Salt Lake Temple. If you decide to venture onto the temple grounds and cast your eyes up its lofty spires and battlements, the castle-like exterior will reveal a host of astronomical markings: sunstones, moonstones, Earth stones, and even Saturn stones adorn its granite face. Most captivating for me as a teenager—a starry-eyed wannabe scientist and scrupulously obedient Mormon—was the Big Dipper on the western face of the temple’s central tower. The seven stone stars are positioned so Dubhe and Merak, the two end stars of the cup, align toward Polaris, the North Star, just as they do in the night sky—an elegant tethering of Earth to heaven.

5 Easy & Painless Ways To Suicide
by Mani Karthik | Nov 15, 2012 | Thoughts
If you’re looking for painless ways to end your life, here are top five ways to suicide – no pain, easy peasy.
First off, if you’re reading this, I’m sure there is something going on in your life – possibly something bad. You have thoughts – negative ones mostly. I need you to understand that, this is normal, but you’re right. You probably are going through a bad time in life. People don’t care about you anymore, nobody loves you, you feel awful. You are in debt, or worse… an ailment and you’re in pain. I understand.
Suicide is an easy option. Possibly because you want to start over at the press of a button. Like a video game. Press the button. Boom! Restart.
You see, life is very like (and unlike) a video game. In video games, you either fail or win. There is a certain something that you have to do to win. Like get to the princess. Or find a treasure. Something.
Life is different. Sometimes there are no princesses, no villains. Heck, no treasure. It’s frustrating. Let’s hold on to that thought for a second. Moving on….

This is called Gravitational Potential Energy. The way to solve this is by timing the: mass, speed and height.
1) Measure the mass of the object
2) Measure the height of the drop
3) Measure the speed of the drop
4) Multiply all of them together.

I agree. I am really interested in Nanotechnology and I have had a lot of research for it. It is my favourite topic. It has so much good use and the structure is just magnificently fascinating.
Thank you for the video.
Thank you for the video.

Physics is a messy mixed plate for me too... But i really like it (once i get the hang of it). I'm taking Physics as a subject at school this yr and am studying General Physics at the moment.
