Wonderstruck
question
References to "Mixed-up Files"?

Brian Selznick wrote there are "many" references to "The Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" in "Wonderstruck" but beside the obvious kid runs away to a museum, what are they? If only Rose or Ben had snuck change from the meteorite and ate at the automat or washed clothes in a fountain...
Loved the book and movie and had a wonderful "only in NY" experience of walking out of the theater, up Broadway, to the very same used bookstore where a key scene takes place, and buying a hardcover 1st edition of Wonderstruck (for less than a new one on Amazon). Bookstore is Westsider Rare Books. Chill owner (?) had a bottle of red wine opened and jazz on the hi-fi.
