I'll be choosing from the following:
War Storm
The Heart's Invisible Furies
Exit West
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women
They Both Die at the End
The Hate U Give

I absolutely love the premise and social questions evoked by these movies and I was so excited when I stumbled across this book at a used book store. I have no idea whether it's a good read or not, but I can't wait to find out!

I'm planning on doing one book per year, rather than just read 1 book for the prompt.

2016 B A Paris –

2017 Sarah Pinborough –

2018 Erin Bowman -

2016- The Woman on the Orient Express by Lindsay Jayne Ashford
2017- Caraval by Stephanie Garber
2018- Red Clocks by Leni Zumas (Done Jan 20-22)
Why did you choose this book?
I was just going to read one but I like the idea of reading one book for each year!

The bookshop on the corner by Jenny Colgan
Why did you choose this book?
It was recommended...

I read The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin.
Why did you choose this book?
The First Look Book Club provided me with an initial excerpt, which piqued my interest, and subsequent copy of the story.

Why did you choose this book? Delia Ephron is a prolific artist, noted for her many books and movie screenplays written over the years. Although I'd never read any of her novels, the one I chose received good reviews and sounded interesting, so I thought I'd give it a go.

The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
Why did you choose this book?
My book club decided to read this for February and it fit the topic - published in 2018 and I've never read anything by the author.

(Sorry, I have no idea how to properly link this book)
November 2017 - Although I couldn't finish it, this book deserves 5 stars. (I felt I couldn't give it the attention it deserves at this time). The writing style is challenging, gorgeous, inventive, spare...not a word was wasted.
February 2018 - Oh My. I had to start from the beginning again just to get my bearings, but so glad I did, and I stuck with the book this time. I sunk with Clara and soared with Maurice. This is not a feel good novel with a pretty ending. It touches on subjects like mental health and the family dynamics around that, possible (?) incest, homosexuality, aging parents. As this is a book site, I don't comment on any subject in a novel...just the author and how skilled she is at "taking me there" no matter how uncomfortable it was. I had to walk away and take a few breaths towards the end. Fabulous read!

Unfortunately, this feature is not available on the app (which is rubbish, I personally never use it).

The Wife Between Us
- Why did you choose this book?
It was recommended by someone in the other reading challenge I am participating in.

I read Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue.
Why did you choose this book?
I already owned it and wanted to push it further up on my reading list.

Before He Kills by Blake Pierce
- Why did you choose this book?
It was already on my tbr and I own it so this seemed like the right book for this category. It seems like a book I will enjoy.

Her Last Lie
By:Amanda Brittany
It was already on my TBR from last year and it fit the challenges plus it's a thriller and the author is a new to me author as well.

The Bookshop on the Corner
Why did you choose this book?
It fit the prompt and I've been meaning to read it for awhile.

A Study in Scarlet Women
Why did you choose this book?
I was reading it for the Read Harder challenge, and realized it fit here too, published in 2016. I hadn't ever heard of the author before, but I enjoyed it so I think i'll at least read the next lady sherlock book.

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah

- Why did you choose this book?
I have seen that the books of Kristin Hannah that are popular and wanted to find out if I like her books.

Twists in Time by Angie Taylor
- Why did you choose this book?
Well......I'm part of this group on goodreads called awesome reading marathons (or something like that). I don't join in every marathon but some of them, they are fun and there are prizes to be won! This one popped up and I managed to score myself a free ebook version :) The booked looked great so I went through the list to see if it would fit into the reading challenge and here it is!! (I would have read it even if if didn't fit in, but bonus it did!)

Black Widow, by Christopher Brookmyre

Why did you choose this book?
It was a bookclub choice, and I worked it into this challenge.

House of Names by Colm Tóibín
- Why did you choose this book?
I'd read a book last year which ended with the death of Iphigenia and this book deals with the aftermath of her sacrifice.

- Why did you choose this book? I wanted to read another suspense thriller. It has been a little while. This one is also being done as a buddy read for July in my other group and it fit this prompt pretty well.

- Why did you choose this book? I'd heard good things and decided to give it a try since it was already on my ever-expanding TBR list

I chose this book for another challenge, in which I needed a particular word (FAR) in the title. The blurb said it was perfect for fans of the tv show This Is Us so I picked it up! It is also similar to a movie I just saw - Three Identical Strangers.

Why did you choose this book? It was sitting on my (physical) bookshelf for about a year. I received it through a Goodreads Giveaway so I thought it was time to read it.
I was very disappointed.

The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne
Why did you choose this book?
I've heard good things about it from members of this group so I thought I'd try it.

-Why did you choose this book?
It has been on my hold list at the library and came off so good time to get started on it.

I read The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry
- Why did you choose this book?
I had purchased it on sale at a friend's recommendation and never got around to reading it...so, it was good timing to read it when this prompt needed filling.

My original picks were:
2016: Salt to the Sea
2017: The Leavers
2018:Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance
what I've read so far ( instead)
Nothing yet for the adult version of the ATY challenge ( although the 2018 pick is still on my list)
For mid grade 2016 I read The Voyage to Magical North. This was a really fun story about a quest that involved a library on an island, magicians, and pirates. Super fun! For 2017 I have The Goldfish Boy on the table waiting
For picture books, completed all three years!!
2016:What Do You Do with a Problem?
2017:The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors
2018:Drawn Together
Our favorite by far was The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors, this book was hilarious, and I couldn't stop laughing while I read it to the girls. Our thoughts on all of these are on Z&K's challenge plan.
Why did I choose them? For the adult books, they were either highly rated or for 2017 and 2018 they were highly rated books that I owned and slotted into the category. For my mid grade and picture books, I looked at the recent GR choice award winners and nominees and chose books that I thought we would enjoy.
