Zaara | 4273 comments Is this the first time you have a tracker here? I coulda sworn I saw one before. Ha, I made it here to welcome ya ☺️ BEFORE your old friend sworn enemy the Dark Priest could post a octopus escaping moment/leprechaun/scary horror GIF thing.
Here's something pretty instead bcuz I know its Fall where you are.

Oh and Ron, *serious face* if you need this post for tracking purposes at any time in the future just holler me a hoot and I will delete this comment, no fuss.

Thank you, my sweet Miss Z. Or Madam Z. Which sounds snazzier?

And Iain may be a Dark Priest, but he's my Dark Priest. He keeps me on the Stormlight Path because I can't ever remember anything.

The picture looks a good size to me. Thank you for the cheery colors. :-)

Thank you! I was trying to limit myself to only two or three BRs a month but looks like I didn't follow my own guidelines for the start of 2018. Oh well.

My BR tracker scares me, and I don't even update it with all the things I sign up for... the Blade Itself sequels, Sevenwaters sequels, American Gods, Small Angry Planet, on and on... I listed Malazan thru 2020... looks like we share a lot of BRs this month... then we meet back up for Malazan...

You should probably get that updated Iain or you are at risk of seriously triple booking yourself! If you haven't already... XD

Weeelllllll....there's always a chance the Malazan/BoTF sequels will fall off. It all depends on if I like the first book or not. :-)

I actually took to keeping a small monthly pocket calendar in my purse so that I can write in all my BRs. I like being able to see at a glance how many days I can allot to each book. I considered using my calendar app on my phone but that one is already full of family stuff (doctor's appts, pick-up/drop-off times for various kids' activities, etc.) that BRs wouldn't stand out.

Yeah I decided to just add book 1 to my list and see how I like it. Hoping to continue though.

I add my buddy reads to my phone calendar, but it is a bit cluttered. Maybe an actual diary would be better.

message 24: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments The pocket calendar works for me, Siobhan, because in addition to putting all my family stuff on my calendar app, I also put all the start and/or return dates for my tv shows on there as well as release dates for books I want. Very cluttered.

Zaara | 4273 comments Mwha, Ron...gotcha...and me I have a separate reading journal for my books so you can see that I'm a hopeless organizer by myself.
For my real life, I have Faisal...he's my keeper of the keys, records, my life...he snaps his fingers and I move according to his dictates...
Baaaaaaastaaaaaaad! No, God...no...where would I be without Faiz, he is Shield Wall and like you say...he keeps me on the path.
Man is gems and gold.
So when he quits the job of Lord Ruler of My Life to move to *snort* Canada to be near his brother (cancer :-((( wtf) I'm gonna be devastated....heartbroken....a shell of my former self...world's best PA...he hasn't told me yet...he's working (steeling?) himself up to it...he knows I will just implode or something BUT today I'm just gonna be impulsive and tell him...you gtg man....just go...whazz all this *snort* conscience?
I'm doing the right thing, right Ron??
He needs to be with family, right now. And Faiz will get a job anywhere....man is gems and gold, but I've said that before...
God, today is gonna suck and blow, Ronnie luv. I just wanted to come over here and borrow some of youz smiles and strength.
Meanwhile you jezzt take the Dark Priest over to The House of Chains and give it him goooooood...don't let him out until 2019. Make sure he forgets everything abt Stormlight 😝

This has opened up my month a bit more which is nice because it means I can fit in more just-for-the-hell-of-it books. :-)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments Finished BR for Leviathan Wakes (The Expanse, #1) by James S.A. Corey . This was a reread for me so I listened to it on audiobook. The Miller character was a lot more annoying to me this time around.

I just realized this is known because of the 2018 Reading Competition Signup Sheet...

Happy Birthday!... Isn't December the one month nobody wants to be born?... Because it usually ends up being combined with Christmas (I'm sure this was more of a concern as a kid)...

I'm resisting the spoilers but I'm assuming it's about Kelsier...because there is no other man for me in Mistborn. :-) Yeah, I need to read [bookcover:The Hero of Ages|3362870] already. I've (view spoiler) long enough, lol. I think I saw there's a BR for that coming up here somewhere so I should try to fit that in.

message 48: by Timelord Iain, Tech Support (new)

Timelord Iain | 35227 comments Mod
Yea... Kelsier was pretty much the only word in that spoiler before you had to enter another spoiler tag for the real paydirt...

They say Secret History has spoilers for Well of Ascension, Hero of Ages, and Bands of Mourning (book 6)... I can't really tell what the minor spoiler is for book 6, so I think you can safely read after Hero of Ages...

And yea, they're starting Hero of Ages on New Year's... I might be joining in for a re-listen... this anthology has me primed for more Sanderson...

It looks like Secret History is a collection of short stories? Which is the short story that has spoilers for Bands of Mourning, since I obviously haven't read that one either? I can avoid that one...because I'd probably have to read the Kelsier one right after The Hero of Ages. *sigh* Sanderson (view spoiler), my second favorite character. Well, him and Breeze were neck and neck for the second spot. But that's why I didn't immediately dive into the third book.

So, see? When I complain (view spoiler), I know the cost and heartache incurred when they do. :-)

It's more one story split into 4-5 parts... Part 1 is the end of Final Empire... 2 & 3 are during Well of Ascension I think... 4-5 are Hero of Ages...

I did a google search and found that A) I think I missed some thigns when I listened to Bands of Mourning, and/or B) I've forgotten a lot...

The Bands of Mourning spoilers are in the last 2-3 pages or so... and they are really minor, I think... (view spoiler)
