- Please keep any “business-related” thread relatively free of lengthy off topic chatter. This means “General Group Info”, “Buddy Read invite”, “Master Buddy Read list”, “What is a Buddy Read”, “Mods Please Add Buddy Read”, and any post outlining info or rules regarding a challenge etc. We have new members joining every day, so we have decided it is in the best interest of everyone to keep those threads formal and easy to navigate. It is also out of basic respect for those asking a question or trying to plan a BR to not have their messages buried by conversation. You won’t be penalized, but your comment may be deleted or you may be given a gentle reminder about our guidelines if things do get a little out of hand.
-If you notice anything that needs attention, please PM one of the mods and we will look into it and deal accordingly. This is an incredibly active group, and when the conversation is lit up it is difficult to sift through all of the messages to make sure nothing unkind is happening. We are fair people, but we do not tolerate personal attacks on members as outlined in our rules.
-If you notice a troll (ie/ someone posting racist, homophobic, incredibly disrespectful comments in the hopes of instigating a heated discussion) please do what you have done thus far in notifying one of the mods immediately, and DO NOT engage in discussion. Trolls love it when you take their bait. This is unfortunately the reality of any large group such as this. We are usually good at catching these things but still appreciate your help with that.
-As for a word about tone, and respect- if you notice someone is a tad lost, confused about what’s going on please speak plainly to them. Not everyone has the same language, social background, or disposition so they may need a little direction. There are so many helpful members here in that regard and we thank you for that, keep up the good work. Of course, always be kind to one another.
-Jenna is located in South Korea, Angela in New Zealand and will be moderating as per their time zones. Niki, Scott, and Margret are located in North America and will be moderating in theirs accordingly. Any immediate issues please keep in mind who is available at this time
