She is, It is a great book for sure. Lot's of great books on the list.

I also noticed Underground Railroad is listed as a classic. The book was published in 2016 so I don't think it qualifies as a classic.

I took the Whitehead off my list. It will be aclassic in 50 years, I am sure. Added Twelve Years a Slave by Northup. I owe you a thanks. I did not plan on reading it but it is amazing.
I have to find a Central or South American novel this week????

Bonnie G. (narshkite) | 1413 comments I completely agree the Underground Railroad will be a classic. I would offer up my book for the Latin American author, but I sort of hated Love in the Time of Cholera.

Ariel | 38 comments I did Before Night Falls by Reinaldo Arenas for #4. I didn't know a lot about Cuba and life under Fidel Castro, so I found it really fascinating and also horrifying.
