I didn't make a list this year, because I had a feeling it would be a down year reading-wise. I read 50-60 books in 2015 and 2016, but this year I'm lucky if I crack 30. Anyway, it has felt good without restrictions this year. On the other hand it was a lot of fun planning out the lists before, finding books that fit categories etc. I'll see what I'll do next year.
But again, THANK YOU for all the passion, time and energy you put into this. I'm sure you made a bunch of people read a lot more than they would have.

Wishing you every success ; )

You're welcome! Thank you both for your kind words! I'm glad to know I made a difference for a lot of people, and getting people to read more is a big part of my job as a librarian!
What I've learned over the last few years is I enjoy putting the list together, but when it comes to finishing the challenge I lose interest part way through! I originally hoped to read 100 books this year, but changed to the more manageable goal of 75 when it became clear I wasn't going to get to 100. I'm sitting at 76 with a month left in the year, so I will probably make to 80 (or more!).

Since I’ve started the reading challenge in this group 2015, I‘ve read 157 books (audiobooks included). That‘s really amazing, because I read about 4-5 books a year before, because they had started to bore me. All those books in my shelves had become so predictable. And then there was you and your challenge: I read books I‘ve never would have taken before. And reading became interesting and exciting again. I don‘t need the categories anymore, the group members posted so many books that made me curious, it‘ll take me years to read. Although I‘ve started using wasted times like driving to work, waiting for the bus, waiting for the doctor, waiting for the traffic jam to end etc. for audiobooks and reading. Now I don‘t hate waiting anymore, because it‘s reading or listening time. Thank you, Anne, yes, in my life you made a big difference!

I'm sure you're wondering if there will be a new challenge for 2018. I hope there is, but unfortunately it won't be me putting it together this year. I've just got a bit too much on my plate right now.
I encourage you all to create one of your own, or go back to using one like Pop Sugar's challenge (I'm assuming they'll do a new one for 2018).
I'm happy that you've found enjoyment with this group, and that it's carried on as long as it has so far.
Cheers!!!
