Figured I would stop in and say "Hi!" to our team.

I'm in Louisiana, I've got 2 teenage daughters and I read way too much! At least according to my family. Lol! --- I'm actually trying my best to hold off starting today's book until they spin the wheel, but I'm not sure I'll make it.

I tend to read fiction -- lots of fantasy and UF, but I sneak other genres in periodically.

This is my first ever challenge so I may need help figuring out the rules.

I am Lizz and I live in Texas. I read just about anything.

Hello!! I live up in Vermont with my Husband and our dog. I was an avid fantasy fan but lately my reading has been all over the carts, Cozy Mystery, End-of-the-World, Paranormal, Dystopian, Thriller.

I read a lot of Paranormal, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Chick Lit, Dystopian, suspense, and historical fiction. But if it has a good recommendation, I'll read just about anything. I'm not that big on non-fiction though.

I'm so excited for this challenge! I'm sure we'll all be getting the hang of the rules together. Feel free to ask any questions you have. If I don't know the answer, I'll check with the mods.

Another TX gal here, also in the DFW area. I read most everything except horror, with favorites being fantasy, historical fiction, and non-fiction(biographies and history). I only just joined when this challenge went around so I figured this would be the best way to jump in. Can't wait to start!

week one

Well I have got a great one that is flexible with letters and happens to be Middle Grade as well(yay bonus points!). Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens. That's an M, or an R, and then the 2 main characters are Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong, so that's a D.
And then this is what I am going to be reading for the Hot/Cold challenge, so if you want me to prioritize one of them for a letter after Murder, just let me know, otherwise I'll see what we have open and what I can do.

That's great Heather!! I have you down for the bonus. Since we have 3 D's, I'm thinking we should use Daisy. And looking at your hot/cold list, I'm thinking one of the G authors or the "I" title might be most useful. But let's see what everyone else has before we definitely decide on that one.

I'm reading Spirit Legacy by E.E. Holmes, which will count for one of the E's. Or one of the characters is David Pierce, which would be another D if we need that more. *Note: mods have verified that it does not have to be a main character. Any character will work.* I'll choose my next book on what letters are left over from everyone else (I'll be done with this one for sure by this evening).

Also, everyone please make sure you add all books you're reading right now to your challenge bookshelf in case there is something there we can use :)

To link is real easy, look at your comment box, across where it says "comment" is "add book/author" that is click able, click it and you can search, select the circle link and you get a hyper link to the book's info, select cover and you get a tiny picture.

The app doesn't give me the same options on lots of stuff in Goodreads, and that's usually how I log in.

Switch my R to The House of Hades. That should also give us some bonus genre points -- as well as make my daughter happy that I've finally caught up! ;)

Never mind, I just re-read the rules and it looks like we only get the one bonus for genre. But if we finish our spell-it-out, and start over for more points, I'll just pull Riordan's book back out.

I only have one chapter left of my book so I need to start thinking of what I'm going to read next. From the pile I need to read for other stuff, I have an E, G, and M. Heather has 2 possible G's, so I'm thinking the E might be most helpful, since M is probably more common. What do you all think?

Hello, I'm Lilac and I live in Wales. I read a lot of genres and lately have been especially interested in classics and historical fiction. I just finished year 11 so am in the middle of my longest summer of my life. I don't have a job either so when I'm not camping with friends or on holiday with family I can spend a lot of my time reading. At least until September.

I'm participating in the booktube-a-thon which starts on Monday so I should be reading a few books this week. I'll definitely be reading The Invention of Wings, and from what I can tell the main character is Hetty Grimke but also possibly Sarah Grimke.

A quick question: do the books for this challenge have to be started after the shelf is announced?

I'm reading After Dark by Nancy Collins. The mc's are Cally & Lilith. Should help with the L.

Great Shannon! That finishes our genre once everyone finishes their books! Yay!!

I know some of us have more time to read than others, so whoever wants to work on re-reading letters for bonus points is of course welcome (and encouraged!) to. We'll continue on a first come, first serve basis for available letters. If you know for a fact you will be reading a certain book that fits and will be finishing by the week 1 deadline, you can let me know and I'll reserve a letter for you.

"Geist" was pretty good. It's a fantasy novel with a little steampunk thrown in. I rated it 4 stars, but I rounded up a bit. I'll definitely be reading the 2nd one. It did take me a little bit to figure out the world & what was going on.

I added "Spirit Legacy" to my to-read pile based on your review!
