Martha (marthais) Hello all, and Happy December!

I have an early Christmas present for you guys in the form of our new moderator team!

Hopefully you know from my messages that I'm going to be stepping down as moderator at the end of this year. I've loved moderating this group, but over the past few months I haven't had the time to dedicate to making it amazing, which isn't fair to anyone, so it's time to step aside and let new people run with it.

I'm delighted that four people volunteered and are now going to be a moderating team so the pressure isn't on one person, and we'll have quadruple the ideas! I've already seen some of the things they've been coming up with and it's exciting :D

Please give a warm welcome to:
Di
AlwaysDaddyGirl
Ian
Jennifer

December is going to be a transition month where I'll still be around, but I'll also make the team moderators so that they can start playing around and putting new things in place. In January, I'll step down and these guys will officially take the lead.

As a start, Di has suggested our Mental Health Read for this month: Running Like China by Sophie Hardcastle

It's been a pleasure, and I look forward to new and exciting things in 2018!

Martha x

Jennifer Gilmour (jennifergilmour) | 4 comments I am looking forward to joining the team, thank you for the opportunity.

I am an author and have an large interest in mental health that links to domestic abuse and PTSD. I am also looking forward to learning more about other areas I have a knowledge and interest of and those I need to take a learning curve on.

We will look after all members and have been chatting and making decisions for some time. It is exciting and well organised.

Thank you once again.

Jennifer

Di | 397 comments Hi

My name is Diana. I am 26 and work in life sciences. I'm from tiny European country called Estonia and our population is 1.3 million. Estonians are fond of quoting Hemingway: “In every port in the world, at least two Estonians can be found.” I have heard many stories how fellow Estonians have gone hiking abroad and have found another Estonian on the way. So shoutout to any lurking Estonians in this group!

I have always been interested in psychology and I have always been very anxious. Ever since doctors verified my worry train was more like generalized anxiety disorder than normal everyday struggle, I have tried to read more about mental health. For this reason I joined Mental Health book club.

I kind of stumbled upon moderating but I have many ideas I hope we can make into a reality with our Team of Mods.
Hope to make this place a cozy nest for all of us to feel safe and supported.

Di | 397 comments Unfortunately, Jennifer had to give up moderating tasks due to health reasons. So welcome our new mod, Marju!

Marju Palmiste | 9 comments hello there!
i really should be a better user of goodreads, not as active here as one could or should be. i also should get rid of this annoying habit of apologizing for literally everything :)
my name is Marju, 24 years old. i work as an Estonian and literature teacher for middle school. i love it.
i've been anxious and battling with depression with most of my life, but it still feels weird to say these words out loud, because for the longest time i thought this was normal. turns out, it isn't. who knew.
otherwise i try to keep myself and the world around me healthy and clean and what would better for doing that than knowledge.
so i'm going to give this moderating thing my best shot and i hope it turns out for the best.
take care!

Mahalo for sharing! Just be you. But thanks for explaning why.

Take care of yourself first. Do Goodreads when you can.

What is normal by thr way? To be sounds boring. Even though I am damaged, it also made me stronger.

If you have any questions with moderating, just ask. Don't worry about it and do your best. Because being worry solves nothing.

Life is short. Enjoy it.

Happy Reading! Good Luck with the moderating

If I may,🤗

Be well,
Alwaysdaddygirl🤙🇺🇸!
