Wren (wrenreaders) im looking for YA fiction with Wiccan main characters. ive already read The Coven (Sweep, #2) by Cate Tiernan and Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast and in Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake the guy's mother is wiccan. i dont mind new adult fiction either. i just dont want the characters to just be stereotypical media-type witches alone, but actually of the Wiccan religion. thanks!

Bryer (phantom_of_the_bookshop) Have you read the Wicked series (not the Oz books) by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguíe? I haven't read the last installments, but I really enjoyed the first 2 volumes (3 books, 6 stories). I don't know if it is an accurate representation of wicca, but I know that it us the most gritty witch book series I have ever read. It was dark and the characters felt authentic. Lots of rituals, circles, runes, reincarnation and an ultimate battle between a male sorcerer clan and a female witch clan. I don't know if that is your type of thing, but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents :) good luck!

That series is amazing! I highly recommend it.
Also, a really good one is House of Ivy and Sorrow. The girl and her grandmother are witches and there were Wiccan elements to it. It doesn't seem like they're stereotypical and I liked that they really stressed the "every spell has a price" in the book. Good luck and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread because I love books like this too that are YA!

Bryer (phantom_of_the_bookshop) Oh yay! Glad I didn't recommend something bad haha I am relatively new to this stuff. I will have to read these other books though! I finished watching Charmed and Witches of East End so I am really craving more witchy things. After American Gods, I have to read Beautiful Creatures but then I would absolutely love to read some of these suggestions. Thank you for starting this thread! :)

Iva Kenaz (ivakenaz) | 17 comments Hi Julie, my debut novel is significantly inspired by Pagan/Wiccan beliefs and some of the characters (mainly the characters of women living on the Cursed Mount) are actually Wiccan/Pagan.
Feel free to check it out :-)

Diamond (diamondnaz) | 6 comments @Bryer - I like the beautiful creatures series!! Enjoy it :) I have to read the last one yet. And I LOVE the Witches of East End show! I just read the first book last week and am onto the next soon :) Have you ever read The Witching Hour by Anne Rice? It's not YA but it's one of my favorite witchy books!!

I also forgot that I've been meaning to read Born Wicked. It's supposed to be really good witchy Ya series!
Born Wicked (The Cahill Witch Chronicles, #1) by Jessica Spotswood

Michaela Osiecki (onth3cusp) Have you read Blue is for Nightmares? The main character is a witch and the author did a lot of research into witchcraft and Wicca to get an accurate account of things. I think it's the first book in a series, so maybe give that one a go to see if you like it?

I own that one actually...it's good to know that it actually contains some sort of true wiccan themes

Paige Vanderbeck (fatfeministwitch) | 1 comments If you can find them, the circle of three series by Isobel Bird is great. They're out of print but libraries usually have them and you can buy the Ebooks from kobo. It starts off with an "average girl" accidentally checking a modern spell book out of her school library while quickly grabbing books for a project on the Salem itch trials and she tries one and the result is kind of silly and exaggerated magic, but really great at showing the Threefold law. She makes friends and it follows them on their journey to learning more about Wicca and finding a coven and telling their friends and family etc. highly recommend!
