I'd like to concentrate on reading series this year. I will only make general info posts for the earlier books in a series.

That is one of my favorite stories of all time! :)

I just started a re-read of The Fellowship of the Ring - I haven't read it for at least 7 years although I have read The Hobbit twice in that time frame.

The Hobbit is the only book in the series that I have read more than once, and I have no idea how long ago that actually was. It will be nice to revisit after all of these years.

I had planned to watch the Hobbit trilogy during Christmas but lost interest in the middle of movie #2. I hope to go back to it before winter break is over, but my kids want to do a Marvel Movie-thon for the New year, so I'll have to wait and see on finishing the Hobbit.

I could see how TLOTR could be three movies (it's three books, after all) but stretching The Hobbit over three movies seems a bit much to me, so I haven't risen to the challenge of watching them.

Quite a few changes were made, things were added, and liberties were taken. What I saw wasn't bad... in fact, the movies are quite beautiful. Like with reading, however, I just have to be in the mood to watch movies, and that doesn't happen very often.

I'm an extremely moody person. I'll blame it on my zodiac sign (Cancer) LOL.

Cancer! That explains everything. My wife's a Cancer, 'nuff said.

Reminds me of another cover I've seen. I though it was the same, but it's just similar. I haven't read it, but I think the cover was cool.

I prefer the original cover for Dead Until Dark because it matches the others in my boxed set. The art changes some after book eight but is still better than the media-tie-in cover in my post.

I had lent my boxed set to a friend whose husband isn't very careful with books, so she replaced the collection for me, but the first book had the TV cover.

Thanks. :) I had the same reaction to the Bingo challenge that you had to the Series challenge - too much for me to wrap my head around at the moment.

I think there would have been to much work without it!

So...Yeah. All of my reading had been work and school related, so far, this year, until now.

I am on a mission to complete the Codex Alrea series by the end of this year. I'm currently 3/4 of the way through Book #1 - Furies of Calderon.

My calculus class was heading towards an epic fail due to my current work schedule, so I withdrew from it and will try it again this summer when I won't be working. I think I know what classes I'll take this spring, but until then I'm hoping to work and read.

I'm enjoying FoC. The characters are engaging, and the size of the book belies the ease and speed of the read. 500+ pages in as many days is good pacing for me. It would usually take me twice as long when my schedule is busy like it is now.

Other than that, I hope all is well with everyone else. I'm sorry that I disappear as often as I do. Just know that I think of my GR friends often and wish you all the best.
