This Is Where It Ends
question
What would you do if this was happening at your school?

This book made me think so much! I hope that if something like this happened at my school I would be able to help and save my friends and siblings but maybe I would just lose it and completely break down. Would I be able to help people out? Would I be as brave as the kids in this book? What would you do?
I think its impossible to know.
Iv'e been in traumatizing situations where i just froze, and Iv'e been in situations where i reacted immediately.
But honestly what could they do they're locked in with a psychopath that has a gun. Unless they all united and attacked him simultaneously ( and there would still be many deaths or injuries)

This year my school began having this rule: If you can get out, get out and run. Don't hide, get out. I live in a small town with a long sidewalk from the school to the nearest building, along a busy road. We would have to travel a while to get to town or even sonic (the only fast food place available) but its better then hiding in the bathroom;.
I feel like at the moment of all that happening, I would instantly freeze. I wouldn't know what to do, and it would be so traumatizing to have to live trough all those moments. I feel extremely for those that have been involved in school shootings.
I am a negotiator and plan a lot. If theoretically this ever happened at my school, if I was far enough away from the attacker, I would make a plan with everyone else around me on what to do to save everyone. My first engagement would be to throw something at the attackers and counterattack with a group of people, kinda like you said. There were many chances in this book to stop Tyler. When Autumn walked up to him, she could've honestly knocked him down and take the weapon. Or someone could've flanked him.
Sadly, our schools rather have us hide and not learn to protect ourselves. So, hopefully, live. It seems like with school these days, their way to protect us will end up killing us in the end
P.S. I am 17, with my own views. Not a 40 yr old guy lol
