What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

So there is this thriller in which a 15-16 year old girl stays with her father. Book is written from her POV so till the end we think that it is a boy but it is a girl. Guy Fawkes comes in somewhere I think. She is pretty frustrated.

Who does the serial? killer target?

Time period and location (country/region/big city/small town)?

I think it's gentlemen and players by Joanne Harris. Not sure, though. Got it through someone else posting something similar. 🙂
