Matthew asked: What's going on with the group?

Answer: Well, we're currently doing renovations on the group, so please be patient ^.^ As of right now, we have class rp's, character templates, and quidditch matches to figure out. After that, I think we're pretty much done, and rp can get underway!

Regina asked: Is the character template done?

Answer: As of August 14, 2014, the character template is nearly complete. Mods are creating some start up characters to test the template, make sure we've thought of everything, and to give members an idea of what we're looking for in character creation. We hope to complete the testing and post a finalized template by the end of next week, if not earlier. Stay tuned!

You have so many topics! Where do I start?
Answer:
Here :) Once you've read and signed the rules (using your username is fine), be sure to check out the rest of the topics in the "Welcome!" folder. Then, head on over to the
Characters folder to check the character list for opens and create your character! (Be sure to apply for positions in the appropriate area!) Finally, head on over to the RP topics and get started! Your character can jump into the action in any of these areas:
Classes, Hogwarts, Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff

Can I be a mod?
Answer: We have specific requirements for mods, and at this time, we are not currently looking to fill any mod positions. We will contact group members when the need arises. Until then, please keep in mind that asking for modship generally turns mods off to offering you one. Please be patient!

Will points be awarded to earn the House Cup, just like in the books/movies? How can I earn points for my House?
Answer: Yes, of course! We will be awarding points for class participation (see this page for details), Quidditch, and general helpfulness and gracious conduct of students/members! Any mean, rude or inappropriate behavior will result in points deducted, even if it's OOC! ((OOC conduct will result in addition/deduction of points to all Houses that member has characters in.)) Also, we will occasionally run contests, such as getting friends to join in the fun!

How many characters may I create?
Answer: Good question. How many can you reasonably handle? My recommendation is to start with only one or two. The character templates are a bit detailed and will take some time and thought to complete. Also, we are not running a one-sentence rp here. Rp posts take time to write out. If you're trying to do 5 or more characters, you might find it to be too challenging or too time consuming. So only make as many as you can reasonably keep up with!

Why do I have to apply for certain positions?
Answer: Most of the positions you have to apply for are ones that, in reality, should be very active. Also, skill level is considered when choosing positions. If you are new to roleplaying, you might find it difficult to "teach" a class every day. The mods here prefer quality roleplay over quantity.

I created a professor, but then a mod told me I wasn't allowed to, and now I'm banned from making any position, even prefects. I don't think this is fair because I put "(is this ok?)" on my character sheet.
Answer: Putting "(is this ok?)" or some such on your character sheet is not the same as applying for a position. There is a specific place for applying, and it is explained in several different areas that you must apply first. We try to be very clear, and don't like when people disregard things that we put a lot of time and thought into. So please, don't take it as a slight if this happens to you. In fact, to avoid it happening at all, just follow the procedure we've provided, and if you're not sure where to go next, just ask here. :)
