Jennifer (JenIsNotaBookSnob) (jenisnotabooksnob) | 45 comments I just read this as an ebook on Edelweiss. It looks like they did a reasonably good job with the translation. This one doesn't have to be requested, it looks like any member can read and review it. It comes out in May 2018.

Ha, I think I just figured out the punny French title, Okilele, oh qu'il est laid (oh how ugly he is). Makes the translation title of Hiznobyuti kind of mild in comparison.

Yay! I was going to try to figure that out at some point. I figured they must have changed the title for a reason.

It sure would not mean the same in English. In fact, when I originally saw the title Okilele (before I knew it was French and realised it was a pun), I thought it might have been Hawaiian.

Well I received the French version yesterday and with regard to the pictures, Okilele is definitely much less ugly and nasty looking than his family (who calls him ugly mostly because he has a bit of a trunk for a nose and they do not). And especially the parents' and siblings attitudes towards Okilele make them both internally and also in my opinion externally ugly and fierce looking.
