#31. "A book mentioned in another book" Does this mean that the book you read for the challenge is mentioned in another book, or may it be any book is mentioned in the book you read for the challenge?
#40. What does "Your favorite prompt from the 2015, 2016, or 2017" refer to?
#31 - I read that as the book you read for the challenge is mentioned in another book but honestly I think it could be either way.
#40 - It's referring to the previous year's Popsugar challenges and you picking your favourite task from them

Oh, okay, thank you.
Hi Vicki - I read that the same way Lynn did. I've seen many books that are mentioned in other books. They are usually the classics.
It would be great if people could leave suggestions when they see a book that's mentioned in another book here so we have a list to work from.
Also, one task requires you to read a book recommended by someone else taking the Popsugar Reading Challenge. I suppose you could look at other people's bookshelves and choose something they rated 5 stars, which they would most likely recommend, but if people taking the challenge would leave books they highly recommend here that would be good too.

I read Robinson Crusoe as the butler in The Moonstone is always talking about it.
I know there were several other books mentioned in The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend. I stopped reading it because it was giving away what happened in other books I hadn't read.

The book mentioned in a book doesn't have to be one from a book you've read but just from any book that mentions a book.
Jacqueline - I believe that group is run by people that enjoy doing the Popsugar challenge, not the actual creators of the challenge. So, their rulings only fit for their group. I'm sure they have a lot of suggestions for books though, since everyone in the group is doing the challenge.
A few more books mentioned in books that I've found while reading recently.
The Island of Dr. Moreau mentioned in Other People's Houses
Robinson Crusoe mentioned in The German Girl
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and The Hobbit mentioned in Wonder
I'm surprised how many books mention other books when you're looking for it.

Also, for The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend, I found this link that lists all the books mentioned in this book: https://medium.com/@jamie.stuckless/a...

I got involved in an Olympics Games Challenge and I've been focusing all my reading time on that challenge for now. LOL But jeez am I reading!
Kristie, that's a superb list of truly good books/classics. I read so much trash anymore or at least books that are okay but certainly not of the quality as the books on your list.
Have you ever read Anna Karenina? I've always wanted to but I never have. I read Crime and Punishment in high school which was back in the days of horse and buggies lol and I remember loving it then BUT I replaced all of the Russian names with English ones in my head. I'd love to reread it as it was brilliantly written!
I am a retired high school teacher and I taught The Necklace which on GR says it's 48 pages, but it wasn't that long! In the textbook we had it was only 10-15 pages at the most. The kids complained how long it was as though it were the length of Anna Karenina. LOL
