Peter (slawophilist) The Buddenbrooks is a wonderful book and I even had the occasion to visit the Mann Family's house in Lübeck, which is very similar to the house of the Buddenbrooks. "Unfortunately" I read the novel only 2 years ago, so it is a bit too early for a reread. I will, though, follow the thread, but read a different novel "Tonio Kröger" instead, which I recently bought.

Rosemarie I have read this book at least twice, the last time not that long ago. I originally studied it in university, so have reread it since for pleasure-and it was indeed a pleasure to read it.
I am read Tonio Kröger again, Peter. It has been a long time since I read it.

Visiting actual places helps cement a novelists ideas in my mind :)

Tracey (traceyrb) | 365 comments Peter/Rosemarie. Posting on Tonio Kroger is acceptable as it is the same author and publishing decade. I will set up a thread for it if you would like for you to discuss.
Let me know.

Rosemarie Sounds good to me.
