Our January 2018 BOTM will be Introduction to Christianity, by Pope Benedict XVI. I was surprised when I realized that it has been over ten years since I've read this book. It was excellent, and I am greatly looking forward to reading it again and discussing it with this group.

Four books that were eligible for the randomizer did not receive any votes and the randomizer chose C.S. Lewis and the Church of Rome for elimination.

The two books that will be added to the nominations list for consideration next month will be: The Gunpowder Plot, by Antonia Fraser and The Great Heresies, by Hilaire Belloc.

I read it just three years ago, and look forward to repeat the experience.

Kerstin | 109 comments Oh, I've been wanting to re-read this one! Not sure if I have time to join you... In my edition it is 340 pages, and if I remember correctly, some of it is quite dense!

It is the book I credit to put me on the path to Catholicism. It was years before I converted, and there were many passages that I plumb didn't understand, but there was enough there that for the first time I got a glimpse of how Christian thougt fits together, that there is an inner cohesion and symmetry.
