Michelle Finazzo | 281 comments I've taken an unintended sabbatical from Goodreads. I finished The Power of the Dog which was our end of summer book club selection. I enjoyed the fast-paced, action packed narrative. I experienced frustration with some of the character's decisions, but that was probably the intent of the author. I'll add further insights to our end of book wrap up.

I read The Dead Mountaineer's Inn: One More Last Rite for the Detective Genre and it was a quick read, but a bit of a puzzlement. I enjoyed the journey and the characters. It was a mash up of supernatural/sci-fi/detective genres. I didn't dislike the experience, but the ending left me a bit unsettled with quite a few questions left unanswered.

We are slowly plodding through the audio version of The Handmaid's Tale and I'm not really enjoying it. I am committed to finishing it, I'm just not sure if that will be alone or with a begrudging husband as he enjoys it even less than I do. We heart you Claire Danes, just not the story as told in your very likable voice.

I started The Lies of Locke Lamora and it is everything you could possibly want in an action-adventure. I can't wait to get into the meat of the story.
