Cheryl Olson (girlsmama) | 694 comments And our July Additional Group read is Full Steam Ahead by Karen Witemeyer Full Steam Ahead by Karen Witemeyer. Here is the Goodreads summary-

Vowing to find a suitable husband to give her father the heir he desires before it's too late, Nicole sets out with the Renard family's greatest treasure as her dowry: the highly coveted Lafitte Dagger. But her father's rivals come after the dagger, forcing a change in Nicole's plans.

After a boiler explosion aboard the Louisiana nearly took his life, Darius Thornton has been a man obsessed. He will do anything to stop even one more steamship disaster. Even if it means letting a female secretary into his secluded world.

Nicole is determined not to let her odd employer scare her off with his explosive experiments, yet when respect and mutual attraction grow between them, a new fear arises. How can she acquire an heir for her father when her heart belongs to another? And when her father's rivals discover her hiding place, will she have to choose between that love and her family's legacy?

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I'm really looking forward to this one! I've read all but one of Karen's novels so far, and I think that Head in the Clouds and Short-Straw Bride are tied as my personal favourites from her.

Rachel | 3 comments I have read A Match Made in Heaven, Stealing the Preacher (Archer Brothers, #2) by Karen Witemeyer , To Win Her Heart by Karen Witemeyer , Short-Straw Bride (Archer Brothers, #1) by Karen Witemeyer , and Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer . My favorite ones were Short-Straw Bride and Head in the Clouds. I have been anticipating Full Steam Ahead for almost one year.

Rachel | 3 comments I just finished Full Steam Ahead by Karen Witemeyer yesterday. This book is why I love Karen Witemeyer's writing style. I basically read this book in one sitting. If anyone hasn't read one of Karen Witemeyer's books I say pick one up. She is one of my favorite Christian fiction authors.

I have read all of Ms. Witemeyer books and well frankly I was disappointed with her third Archer brother, "Cowboy Unmatched", story for it wasn't a full length novel LOL. The only book I dont have at the moment on Kindle is "Full Steam Ahead", yet I should add. I would have to say that my favorite book by Ms. Witemeyer is "To Win Her Heart".

I got my hands on "Full Steam Ahead" first through the library (I learned a few months ago how to get on the hold list quickly) and read it one night. I really loved it dearly and when asked by my local paper for a review of a book I read (the director at the pregnancy center I volunteer at suggested me since I am always talking about the books I read) and this was the book I put in a review on.

Brandy (brandyhei) | 2 comments *waves hello* This is my first post to this group. Howdy, everyone!

I love Karen Witemeyer's books! I have read Stealing the Preacher, Short-Straw Bride, and just finished Full Steam Ahead, in that order. (I started To Win Her Heart the other night, too!)

It's hard to pick a favorite, but while I was reading Stealing the Preacher, I had a laugh-out-loud moment at the top of page 231, followed by actual tears at the bottom of page 232. From then on, I was pretty much hooked on her books. :)

Bonnie | 26 comments I never did comment so I decided better late than never! I really enjoyed this book! It was the first book I read by Karen Witemeyer and since then I have purchased four others on Kindle. I gave this one five stars. Nicole's personality made this a fun and interesting read, as she had a good heart and cared a great deal about those around her. She was humble and kind. I also loved all the household staff! They really added to the quality of the story! It was nice reading how Darius had (gotten a new perspective and) changed so much from grief and guilt, to loving and kind. Good reading, y'all!

Patricia O'Hara | 1 comments Can anyone answer this Q.
Barnes & Noble upped the price on my book, Bleecker Street, The Journey Of Lovie Maroon, By: Patricia O'Hara (me)to an outrageous price of: $120.00 a copy. It's on Amazon @ $9.99 ! ! ! Check out B&N their book section for that info. Amazonbooks.com has it correctly priced at $9.99. I E-Mailed several departments at B&N. No response. No change in my book price. Any suggestions? Thanks, Patricia
