Beverly | 16 comments During the summer I don't want to read anything serious or heavy. I want fun, funny and 100% pure entertainment. So far my favorite summer read is the hilarious Necromancer series by Lish McBride, but there was not a new book this summer. I need my summer literature laughs. Any suggestions?
Hold Me Closer, Necromancer (Necromancer, #1) by Lish McBride Necromancing the Stone (Necromancer, #2) by Lish McBride

Natalie Bina (nataliebina) | 2 comments I have been enjoying reading all of Rainbow Rowell's books this summer! While they have some serious moments, I have found that all her books have so much momentum that they move themselves. As a reader, I just have to sit back on my favorite couch and enjoy the ride.

Sarah | 3 comments I've been reading the Sorcer's Quest by Morgan Rice. It has 14 books in the series, I started it a week or so ago and I'm still hooked. Currently on Book 10. Also a stand alone book I just read yesterday called My own worst enemy by Emma Smith.

Beverly | 16 comments 14 books in one series sounds like a good choice for the long dreary gray days of winter.

Ron Scheer | 3 comments have you tried any of the Ranger's Apprentice or Brotherband books by John Flanagan? They always have some laugh out loud bits mixed in with some excellent story telling.

message 10: by Adeline (new)

Adeline | 2 comments I would recommend the Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy by Jenny Han.

message 11: by E.J. (new)

E.J. Nottingwood | 2 comments The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is a very entertaining bunch of satire books, that take place on a disc that is balanced on the back of four elephants, on the back of a giant turtle, that is hurling through space. Definitely a bunch of fun reads.

1. Velva Jean Learns to Drive
2. Velva Jean Learns to Fly
3. Becoming Clementine
and her latest book is called American Blonde.

Beverly | 16 comments I loved Velva Jean Learns to Drive when I read it years ago. I did not know there were sequels. Thank you for the suggestion!

Caroline | 3 comments The Hero's of Olympus is also a good light read that might make you chuckle. It's more for children than adults but its still enjoyable

message 26: by Megan (new)

Megan (megandurrence) | 10 comments I recommend A Bite's Tale as a short, but sweet book. It is a cinderella story with a paranormal twist. Love it :)

Also, Angelfall is always a favorite. Angels take over the world, Penryn has to team up with an unlikely ally in order to save her sister from the angels that are not so angelic.

Hope these help!
