I loved the Hebridean Trilogy as well. Enjoyed Coffin Road too although I found it a bit strange. I'll Keep You Safe his latest Hebridean tale was released earlier this month so looking forward to that now.

Hi Catherine, just seen this, sorry!

You're not doing anything wrong. The idea is to read books with Scottish links then list them here. You can tell us what you think, what you'd recommend or just share what you're reading.

I enjoyed Coffin Road though I agree with Susan it was odd at times. I've only read The Blackhouse, need to catch up with the rest of the trilogy as they're a favourite among this group!

Catherine Byrne (katarina66) | 11 comments So how do I add books? Do I have to start a new discussion. My favourite Peter May books are set on Lewis.

On a comment on this thread, you can create a link of a book and/or author by clicking on the green top right hand button 'add book/author'. Type in your book or author on the different searches and the HTML will pop up on the comment. It will look a bit like this: book:Read Scotland|12345
This only works on the Goodreads website, not the app. I number my reads to keep track. Does this make sense? :)

You can take a look at my challenge thread to see what I mean: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Catherine Byrne (katarina66) | 11 comments Grave Matters at St Blane's
A theme park in the idyllic unspoilt island of Bute? Unthinkable, right? Alison Cameron has come to the island to write a visitor guide for said theme park ,but danger lurks. As expected, there is fierce local opposition and the on-site archaeologists are taking their time completing their survey.
Rumour has it that Alexander Crombie, who is financing the project, has run out of money and then the first body is found.

Sounds good, Catherine - I wasn't expecting the body at the end, I do love a good Scottish murder ;)

I'm going to try to give as many Scottish writers as I can a go.

Catherine Byrne (katarina66) | 11 comments No Stranger to Death
A cosy crime, but more than that. When Dr Zoe Moreland moves to a village in the Scottish borders, she makes a gruesome discovery - a body on a bonfire. She has to find out who the murderer is before she herself becomes a victim.

Catherine Byrne (katarina66) | 11 comments I'll Keep You Safe Very disappointed by this latest offering from Peter May. Not his usual standard at all.

Ellen | 87 comments Rebus is tops. There is just no getting him down. The more obstacles thrown in his path the more bound and determined he becomes. I must add the author's love of Scotland especially Aberdeen comes through in Rebus. My review for The Black Book by Ian Rankin: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I've read a lot of Rankin's books and attended a couple of events where he was also featuring. Nice man and you're right, good author.
