I know a lot of the cyberpunk purists might exclude Ready Player One, but I think that once the movie comes out, there will be a resurgence of interest in virtual reality. Where a hero can fight the establishment. That's cyberpunk!

Michael | 13 comments I’ve been waiting for this darn movie for some years now! I actually think it’ll make a great fun movie. I read that Ernest Cline was, by contract, heavily involved in the making of it. Which, presumably, bodes well!

Philip Hoffman | 13 comments I'm pretty excited for it and I think it counts. It's like a more recent version of the old Kilobyte story by Piers Anthony, plus all the 80's nostalgia. I'm also assuming it will fuel the cyberpunk fire.

Just hoping there is no voiceover to explain everything to the audience. Please, PLEASE let them just show us the world and don't infodump everything!

Wendy | 5 comments I am a huge fan of the book and was very pleased with the movie. I am hoping the Ready Player 2 book will be as good.

The answer to that question seems very divided. Many were disappointed that some of their favorite scenes were not in the movie. Others conceded that some scenes in the book are just not cinematic, so the changes were acceptable. I enjoyed both.
