I just started listening to the Appendix N Book Club podcast referenced in the article, and based on the first couple of episodes, I'd recommend it.

An interesting list, with many very different works of fantasy. (I remember thinking that even in my teens, when I first read it.)

Also, I've also listened now to the entire Appendix N Book Club podcast and recommend it highly. Great, well-informed discussions about the books both as works of fiction and as inspiration for the game.

https://appendixnbookclub.com/ is their website; they're also on Twitter & Facebook. I subscribe to the podcast feed in iTunes, but you can also get the episodes directly or through other services, I'm sure.
