message 1: by colleen the convivial curmudgeon, Not a book hipster! (new)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments It's a shortened month, so time to cram!

I started A Confusion of Princes yesterday. It's not as Comedy of Errors as it sounds. It's actually kinda military-sci, but for kids.

I'm also reading The Cambion Cycle: Quincy Harker Year Two as my gym read. It's pretty good - kind of a combination of Dresden/Constantine, and the stories, so far, haven't been well paced.

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2450 comments I started Tower Lord yesterday, and I'm liking it even better than the first book so far.

Still working slowly on the audiobook of Iron Gold. I just don't get as much listening time as I used to.

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 860 comments I'm 40% into Oathbringer. Slowly but surely! I just don't read as fast as I used to.

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) | 123 comments Another month of juggling too many books, so I've decided I am going to finish The Last Wish this month if it kills me! :)

message 5: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Bad Girls Deadlift (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 5312 comments I think I'm gonna start Killing Gravity. It looks good and it was free.

But tbh, I've not read much lately. I've been too busy + life.

message 6: by Wolf_Maiden (new)

Wolf_Maiden | 4 comments Work has been eating up the vast majority of my time. Currently, I am still working on a paper copy of To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 and the Kindle version of The Unremembered. Let's see if I finish either one this month.

message 7: by Greg (new)

Greg | 201 comments Started reading an electronic copy of the paperback edition of Helen's Daimones, kindly supplied by the author.

The Witching Hour (Once Upon, #6) by Nora Roberts The Witching Hour by Nora Roberts in paperback
Another wonderful, fun short story by Nora Roberts. Filled with magic, love, romance, and family villains. It kept me so very interested even thought the ending was predictable. A wonderful fantasy under a veil of cold, ice and snow. 5 stars

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Winter Rose (Once Upon, #4) by Nora Roberts Winter Rose by Nora Roberts in paperback
Another wonderful short story by Nora Roberts. A queen who's land has been frozen by her vengeful aunt years ago finds a wounded soldier in her frozen forest. True, sincere love is what is needed to thaw hearts and her land. A story filled with love, romance, determination and magic. 5 stars

A World Apart (Once Upon, #5) by Nora Roberts A World Apart by Nora Roberts in paperback
A good short story by Nora Roberts. Filled with romance, magic, good guys, bad guys, sorceresses and demons, and humor. Kendra is thrown into another portal to slay the evil Bok and lands, literally, on Hunter who was chosen to be her helper. Harper is living in today's world and finds it hard to accept this attractive pixy who can kick anyone's ass. I really enjoyed how the two worlds come together and how Kendra learns all about Hunter's world. The only thing that kept me from 5 stars is Hunters dialogue. He spoke sometimes more like out of a historical romance novel than a PI from New York. Other than that, I really enjoyed the whole story line and great characters. 4 stars

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) | 123 comments So far in February, I've finished The Last Wish and Warriors: Legends of the Clans. I'm currently focusing on the last 60 pages (not counting the glossary) of Winter's Heart.

message 12: by Greg (new)

Greg | 201 comments I'm about half-way through Helen's Daimones but I also started Ready Player One for a buddy read. Enjoying both so far.

message 13: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I haven't read any fantasy yet this year except one small graphic novel. Though I'm now reading a nonfiction book ABOUT a fantasy book. LOL The Road to the Dark Tower: Exploring Stephen King's Magnum Opus

Otherwise this month, I've read:
The Relic Master - HF humor
The Black Echo - Book 1 of Harry Bosch series, police procedural
The Black Ice - Book 2 of Harry Bosch series

Currently reading:
The Road to the Dark Tower: Exploring Stephen King's Magnum Opus
Why We Don't Suck
Stories: All-New Tales
The Feud: The Hatfields and McCoys, The True Story

Because apparently I can't do anything in my daily life without a book, and every new event requires a new book. LOL

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2450 comments Becky, I really enjoyed that Dark Tower book.

Oh and on Stories, you do realize there is a Peter Straub in there, right?

UGH. YES. I already got there. And thankfully past. I can't stand his writing.

message 17: by Chris , cookie guilt (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2450 comments Past as in skipped, or got through it? I remember that story particularly sucking.

message 18: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I skimmed. It counts.

message 19: by Chris , cookie guilt (new)

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2450 comments Fair enough

message 20: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) The only thing I got out of it was it was gross, though. Blech.
