Thoughts?

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 92 comments I read this yonks ago but it still sits in my mind. Original, clever and thought-provoking.

martin eden | 405 comments I really liked this book, especially the end. And I really enjoyed Wilde's writing style. I didn't like the movie though.
It's also a book highly influenced by Wilde's personal life.

Bethany | 1 comments **Spoilers** By chance, I recently finished this book and I loved it. I was shocked by how enraptured I was by it and absolutely loved the thinking Wilde had of Gray’s steady decline. While I was thrown off by the amount of time that had passed, it didn’t take much for me to pick up where Wilde had intended it to be. I love how the only thing that could kill Gray was himself. He had to be done with himself. I found it thought provoking and enjoyed the poeticism.

Actually just finished reading this for another book group! Seems to be a popular one this year (another movie coming out, or is it just the right time for Dorian?).
It was a reread for me, and a classic that I'd definitely recommend to others. The novel can be tedious at points, but it's a very thought-provoking piece too. The characters and the ideas will stick with you, and it's worth the reread every so often to see how you've grown too. There's a reason Dorian keeps fascinating us today. And of course, lots of Wilde wordplay, very witty and very quotable.

I've a longer review too.

Dawn Reading now and enthralled so far! However, the cynicism can make one feel quite deflated. Looking forward to reading more.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Meh. I have no strong feelings about this one either way.
