January's Book of the Month is Cinder by Marissa Meyer. Even if you aren't reading with us this month, please share your thoughts on the book below! Here are some questions to get you started:

-Have you read this book before? What did you think?
-Are you reading it this month with us?
-What have you heard about this book?

I actually read this book for the first time a few weeks ago, and finished the final book in the series today. I'm not going to reread it, but I would be happy to discuss it with anyone who is.

It picks up. If you read a couple more chapters, I think you'll really get into it. Also, there's a prequel (Fairest) if you're interested in reading that first. It doesn't spoil anything.

I don't really see a whole lot of advantage or disadvantage either way. The pros of reading it first are understanding Levana, and the pros of reading it second are the world making a little more sense.

Yeah, it took me a while to get into it too, but once I did! Boy was I hooked!!

As for Fairest, I read it between books 3 and 4. I think it made the most sense there, for me, because it provided the backstory for Levana, like Catherine was saying, but at a time where I needed the backstory within the actual story. If that makes sense...

Maggie: Just let me know when you're ready to start Cinder and I'll be ready to discuss with you. :-)

Coralie: That makes sense. Three and four would be a good place.

Yay! I can't wait to see what you think! I won't reread with y'all, but I'll totally jump in on the discussion!

It picks up quickly. Once you've read a few chapters, you'll probably start to get into it.
