Ticket to Read Book Challenge 2018 discussion

I’m reading “From Marble to Flesh: the Biography of Michelangelo’s David” by A. Victor Coonin. While the David isn’t alive, he sure is famous and seems like a person to me! The book is also about Michelangelo, da Vinci, Donatello and others. It reads almost like an action adventure. There’s artistic rivalries, politics, a patent for a boat, and amusing stories about naughty things Michelangelo did when his creations were criticized and what rowdy youths did while the David was en route from the Duomo to the Piazza della Signoria. Other statues in Florence and Rome are discussed. I’m enjoying it.

We forget how bawdy that era was!
