March 2018 Reading List

Getting anywhere near that amount of books might prove a challenge, I suppose my average (without adjusting my lifestyle) would be somewhere around two good novels a month, 300-400 pagers. Especially since I tend to read one nonfiction a month whenever I can help it.
We could always do one title a month, with optional reads scattered throughout the year.
As for the book of the month, I was wondering if you have Heinlein's "Farmer in the Sky"? It would seem fitting to kick it off with the oldest title on the list from the good old '53.

I have not read that one. Also, this challenge is supposed to be fun. I don't think any of us should change our lifestyle to read more books, unless that is what you want to do.
So, do you want to start with Farmer in the Sky for February or March?

March would be great, at the moment I'm completely absorbed by Bill Bryson's impeccable writing, his book A Walk in the Woods is undoubtedly one of my all-time favorites. That man has an uncanny way to be both educational and hilarious in a single sentence. I also got Fire and Fury on the back burner.
So let's settle on Heinlein for March, unless we'll get other nominations.

Ah, Darwin's Radio is a fine choice that I would have no trouble seconding!
There are only two titles in this mini-series and I long wished to read them both. It being on both Hugo and Nebula might just fall under the "Two birds with one stone" category.

I suggest to start with 1953 winner - They'd Rather Be Right by Mark Clifton - as Goodreads bio says "perhaps the most contentious novel ever to win the award."
And I suggest 1-2 books per month max for the group (members may read all they want of course)

I am loving all of the suggestions! I'll make a poll or something tomorrow and see what the group thinks.

I agree that a book or two (a complementary read or a re-read, voted on in a separate thread) would be the most sensible. The nomination makes sense as well, though it's a shame I still haven't got a hold of it yet.
I suppose since we are still a relatively small group we might as well have a couple of nominations per user, but not more than that.

I've posted some new info regarding the nomination process, feel free to comment if you have any suggestions.
Also keep those nominations coming! Soon there will be a poll to vote on, so there is still time to get more titles into the mix.

Hey everyone, I plan to put up a poll to vote on what we will be reasing in March. I live in Oklahoma City and we had a descent ice storm yesterday, so I've not had the computer access I normally have. The poll should be up around 11 am central time today.

Art suggested a March reading list and maybe even a poll or two, lol.
I agree with both...especially the poll!
I'm an audiobook listener and I can get through about 5 to 8 books (normal sized) a month. What about you?
