I also just remembered that in the Anita Blake books before Laurell K. Hamilton went off the deep end into porno, there was a swan shifter. I don't remember which book he was in, but (view spoiler) . (That's a massive spoiler if you haven't read the book, btw, so don't click on it if you haven't.)
Edit: Ok, I went back and checked, and I think it's The Lunatic Cafe which is book #4.

And I'm thinking we didn't pay enough attention to Mars, with the way that the East Coast has been being slammed here lately. Even where I live--on the beach, just above the SC state line in NC--is forecast to have snow in the next day or two. And this area usually gets a dusting of snow maybe once a decade. We've already had 3 inches this winter--and we aren't set up for it. No snowplows, no salt trucks, no snowtyres. . . . There are those of us who moved here from points north, who are used to it, so we were able to get out, but that 3 inches pretty much shut the town down for 3 days. It was an interesting time around here. The KIDS loved it--snowmen, snowball fights, no school. The rest of the populace, not so much. And I started researching points further south, but think I'm going to have to try Central America to get far enough south to avoid snow and hurricanes. (I told my husband when we moved down here after retiring that the first snow, and we'd be moving again, and it would be even further south. I don't like cold weather.) I'm not really sure that I'd do it--mainly because I don't want to have to pack again, but I'm tempted. But then, I'm not sure that I'd be able to keep in contact with all you wonderful people if we did move. And I won't even mention my B&N Nook and Amazon Kindle addiction. . .
So, quick all, read a book with a war or soldiers/marines/SEALS in it.

This month we are celebrating the famous saying, IF March enters like a lion it leaves like a lamb and vice versa.
The first half of the challenge, He Ain't Lion about, features the all important LION. Five books featuring either a lion OR a warrior (any kind of warrior, from Spartan to Roman to Navy Seal). After all, March is the God Mars' month, and heaven forfend we upset the god of War. Old favourites, new favourites, whatever. Go for it.
The second half gets you in touch with your Lambchop side. Soft, fluffy, cute as a button lambs. So, no wars, no evil wizards or invading aliens. Just sweet (well as sweet as a vampire or were romance can get) love stories. And if anyone can find a werelamb or another wererabbit, (Celia Kyle has the bunnies in the Ridgeville series) let the rest of us know. I for one would love to meet another werebunny or weresheep.
edit: (Cute and fuzzy critters of whatever stripe can also be stuffed as well as Were.)
