She was trouble, you could tell just from looking at her. The sleek black hair that fell to her waist and the legs that went on forever coupled with a body straight out of Playboy, when it still went in for that sort of thing, and an angel’s face would have been enough. The hoofs and that took the place of her feet and the sensual ram horns that rose from her forehead Coupled with the black, velvet bat wings extending from her shoulders clinched the deal.
She sauntered across the seedy bar. Every male and about half the females in the room were drooling at her. Succubus, everybody’s bloody wet dream and nightmare rolled into one. Fortunately, I’m immune. I kept mixing drinks using the distraction to catch up on my backlog.
“You forgot your lunch again, Billy.” Her voice was like satin and smoke with a smooth brandy chaser as she leaned on the bar her every move a seduction.
“Mom, how many times do I have to ask you to call me, Bill. And honestly, I work in a bar. I can just grab something from the kitchen.”
“You can’t live on French fries and nachos. Your diet is awful. I made you a nice tomato and lettuce sandwich with watercress on whole wheat. It’s good for you.”
