i have herd of both book we have them in our library and i have them on my to read list but no one has given me a reason why it is so good. so tell me why do you love it so much?

A copy of The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis was given to me by a Portuguese colleague, at a time I knew nothing of either Pessoa or Saramago. Wonderful novel. It turned me on to both writers.
