PM Shows up in your mailbox and threads show up as a notification, (As a notification you can click on your notifications for something else and may have to find your may back to the thread if you lose it. In PM the notification won't go away until you read the message)
Threads can be easier to read. On desktop and mobile you can read your story continuously, its really easy to locate a specific post by reading through it. IT also saves is in posts of 50 per page. You can have your rp from start to finish. -In PM, if you need to reference something from earlier or look back on your work you have to go through each message individually.
