February 21, is the anniversary birth date of the legendary and visionary writer Anaïs Nin.
This week I am celebrating this author on my blog with one of her short stories, The Houseboat, a mysterious story about the inner voyage of a woman living alone on the Seine in France. Psychological and deep, this free short fiction is a 30- minute read, with audio, plus interview with the author by Studs Terkel, and a podcast about her famous published diaries.
Stop by to experience an unusual story by a talented writer.

This week is The Dark Mother theme ...
What portal do we enter when we confront the Dark Mother?
Richard Matheson, author of I Am Legend, Hell House, and Stir of Echoes wrote a short story which most readers probably haven't read: "Graveyard Shift."
It's not about a graveyard unless you consider the relationship between mother and child a very dark and underground place.
Stop by Tales of Terror Blog this week and explore what the Dark Mother is all about in fiction.

Masterpieces of Terror and the Supernatural
My intention in writing Tales of Terror Blog is to explore as many short stories in horror as I can and experience a wide variety of horror authors. To date I have over 60 authors' works posted (nearly 100 short reads) for free reading. I hope you will enjoy the selection as much as I do.
I am an avid reader and a writer of horror, my preferences "quiet horror," supernatural mysteries, ghost stories, and psychic phenomena.
Please feel free to drop me a line or comment!
