ACOMAF Reading Date: March 14th - April 6th

Hey everyone - upon Rachida's suggestion we're combining the discussion threads so that both the rereads and the new readers will be discussing together! I think this is such an awesome idea so that things won't be so split up and we can have a variety of opinions.

Rereaders - just be careful to mark something as a spoiler or give some sort of warning if your comment will spoil something in the future books :D

The characters are definitely the best part of ACOMAF! I'm excited to start it soon :D

I love this book so much! Can't wait to dive back into it tomorrow!

It's my first time reading the book but I am happy to be spoiled 😄 I am already in the second part and I am really loving it.

You have to be the first person to ever say that! It's not a terrible book to get spoiled on in my humble opinion ;D

It really doesn't bother me much when I get spoiled, it just makes me more excited to immediately get to that part and feel it for myself. (view spoiler)[Before reading the ACOTAR, I was already spoiled of how Rhys is just the guy to melt you. When I started on the first book, I was like, "When do I get to meet Rhysand? I don't really care for Tamlin." And when Rhys popped in during the Calanmai, I was giggling a lot and going crazy because he was initially described by Feyre as "the most beautiful man I'd ever seen". Even though his name was not said during that part, I was already sure that he is that guy everyone else seems to love a lot. (hide spoiler)]

I’m starting a bit late, but according to the schedule we have more than enough time I need to read this book! I’m on page 2 of chapter 1 and just came across this gem...

“When it seemed like I was done heaving, I eased from the toilet—but didn’t go far. Just to the adjacent wall, near the cracked window, where I could see the night sky, where the breeze could caress my sticky face. I leaned my head against the wall, flattening my hands against the chill marble floor. Real.”

I’m sorry but Maas is a genius! Even in ACOTAR Feyre is calmed by the nice sky....allllllllllllllllls the hints alllllllllllll in plain sight!

I love this book so much!

Mhmmm... that would not have been a bad thing to be spoiled with for the first book! Honestly I completely disregarded Rhys in the first book I was so Tamlin crazy *blushes in humiliation*

I agree with you, Maas is indeed a genius. That was my first thoughs when I read TOG, and now that I'm reading ACOTAR, she just keeps on pulling all sorts of emotions from me. The way she writes is so awesome especially those little bits of foreshadowing.

I would've been like you if I didn't got spoiled. I would have worshipped the land Tamlin walks upon for what she did for Feyre in ACOTAR. Maas portrayed Tamlin as a Beast, but then it just happens that Rhys is more of the Beast than Tamlin can ever be.

Also, I literally love this line (page 72) where Rhys says that he has tried and failed to catch the Suriel twice. I mean,*cough cough* Feyre caught the Suriel on the first try, but the most powerful High Lord ever can't?

I just got through the second part...and really. I want to...I don't know what I want 😅 (view spoiler)[ Amazed that Feyre caught a Suriel for the second time. She just bested Rhys in terms of hunting. Then learning from that Suriel that Feyre and Rhys are mates. I am sure that they were mates before reading the book. But the way it was revealed is truly awesome. I really love S.J. Maas. (hide spoiler)] I think I want to throw stuff now. Really. Haha. Better get back to reading. Before I truly lose myself.

(view spoiler)[I literally love the reveal of Feyre and Rhys being mates... but I never really got why Feyre got so upset by it :/ Like I can see why she was mad, but her reaction seemed a little...strange. I mean, if I found out Rhys was my mate.... well, *blushes* (hide spoiler)]

And Oh! I just finished this book. (view spoiler)[That ending though got me crying while reading. Hardly saw the words not only because of the tears but because my heart was tearing itself up at the same time. But to see how Rhys and Feyre braving the time they will be apart stopped the tears. I guess Nesta would be Cassian's mate. I look forward to see what Nesta's powers are. I hope that Lucien will decide to help Feyre this time, I want to throttle him so he better get his act together. And I want to see how Feyre rip Tamlin and his court, as well as that King of Hybern and those stupid mortal queens who will probably be Fae by the next book. Though I wish some died during the process of turning Fae. (hide spoiler)] I love Maas so much for the way she writes Feyre's story. I can't wait to read the next book. 🤓

(view spoiler)[Nesta and Cassian are totally mates I just know it - have you read the bonus scene with them? In the back of the Target addition of ACOMAF there's a bonus chapter that is *steamy*. If you don't have that edition I think you can just find it online somewhere (at least that's what I did!) The queens are literally the worst and freak, so is Tamlin (but honestly what else is new?) Are you planning on moving on with the series or staying on schedule?

Thanks for the info :D The queens make the Children of the Blessed look better. I forgot to mention that I want Ianthe to be slowly tortured, like have ash arrows pin her limbs on a wall. Then have her whipped, let her heal a bit the have her whipped again. Then have her burned slowly to be cooked. Oh! And I think she would be a good gift for the Weaver (hide spoiler)]

I plan to stay on schedule. Though to be honest I keep hitting my other hand every time I try to reach for the third book 😅 So I'm trying to distract myself with other books.

At least this gives you more time to read other books and let the series last as long as possible until ACOFAS!

I'm 156 pages in and I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCHHHHH!!!
I don't even know what else to say lol.

Im working my way through the book, I'm enjoying the reread :).

This was definitely my favorite book of the entire series 😊. There aren’t many authors that can write such a convincing character arc and development in the middle of a trilogy, but SJM is certainly one of them. Love love love her prose in this specific book!

I haven't read the third book but I've already marked the second one as my favorite. I really love the second book. It just exceeded all of my expectations.

The second book really takes the cake, but I think I gave the third book only four stars... I think my issue was I was extremely busy at the time so it literally took me 6 months to read and I was unable to fully engross myself in the world. Hopefully I'll get to enjoy it more this time!

Okay I gotta ask...who here is a Azriel/ Elain shipper and who here is a Lucien/ Elain shipper?

I read an opinion the first time I read this book where someone said that they weren’t a fan of Lucien and Elain because the mating bond is supposed to be rare and it would suck to have all the main characters mated up...which I get but....idk given what is revealed about Lucien in ACOWAR I think it makes sense he would have a mate since even though it is uncommon in general, it seems fairly common for High Lord’s...

I see the appea in Azriel and Elain...I really do. But I can’t help root for the mating bond to win out in the end. Plus, even tho Lucien was obviously massively manipulated in ACOMAF, he’s not a bad character and could really come into his own if allowed to flourish...just some thoughts 😂

(view spoiler)[I prefer LucienxElain. I can also see the appeal of AzrielxElain but it would be better (in my opinion) to have the LucienxElain instead. I'm not saying this because of the mating bond, I just really see as the AzrielxMor a better pairing than AzrielxElain. Also I want Elain for Lucien because of Lucien's previous experience. Elain would be good for Lucien. (hide spoiler)]

Anyways, I have finished all three books haha. I literally binge read ACOWAR.

After getting through all three, this one is the best one in my opinion :)

(view spoiler)[I have to say I cant remember the last time I disliked a character as much as I disliked Tamlin in this one! He went from being the nice guy to the worst ex ever! And then not to mention Rhys, going from hating that man to suddenly realising he was good all along! Maas is a wonderful author, that just made me feel all the frustration, the pain, the love and oh lord the sex haha. I am just, amazed. The ending, I think I actually kinda yelled outloud in my living room... (hide spoiler)]

Not only but five minutes ago i finished ACOMAF.

Again i cried. I have fallen for the characters in a such a way that brings me to tears at the ending at the final showdown with the King of Hybern. Its totally soul shredding and just sad what happens. I can honestly say that after reading this book my hatred for Tamlin has swelled enormously. He (in a distant landed part of my mind) reminds my of Christian Grey from 50 shades of grey. Hes overly protective and treats her as if he owns Feyre and it literally disgusts me reading the final few chapters where he makes an entrance. The ending all in all though is terrifyingly good and is a great lead in to the next book, which follows it up immensely.

I finished the book for a second time.
I fell in love with The Night Court yet again, I cried and laughed with them all. I knew what the end of the book held yet still my breaths were bated. The bittersweet and kickass ending still left me grinning from ear to ear.
Still hate Tamlin btw

I started a new job, so haven't had much time to read. will try to finish the book as soon as I can.

I just finished Acotar last Sunday and no kidding, the second Iflipped the last page, I went to order ACOMAF and I’m sooo excited 😆
