Team Two (Chat)
Important Things To Remember:
***There is no deadline to finish a book for a called category, however in order for a book to count you must have had at least 100 pages left of the book to read in order for said book to work for the category called.
**Because of MIA players in the past, with this challenge you must comment in your team's thread within a week of a new category getting called (unless it is a planned absence). Failure to do so twice in a row will result in your removal from the team."
Book Rules:
• Books must be at least 100 pages.
• Cookbooks, Picture books, Manga, Graphic Novels, Poetry books are not allowed for this challenge. Aside from that, any books over 100 pages count for the challenge.
Read all the rules here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

We can read a book that begins with the letter S for Standalone; a book with a horse on the cover; or a book that is not part of a series.
I'm going to go with

It is a standalone, so it'll work for me.

The book I am going to read is Saving Amelie. Starts with an S. :)

Just trying to sort out what book to read... Maybe

That works. If you decide to read it, I look forward to your thoughts. It's on my "maybe" list. :)

How are you doing on your book for Horse?
I'm about halfway finished with mine.

Well, my book's been at the library all week, and I haven't been able to pick it up. (It's been a rather busy past week for me.) But, I should have it today, and can read and review it as quickly as I can. Thanks for asking, Dawn.

Tree (4)
Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a TREE on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the 4th book in its series (e.g. An Inconvenient Beauty (Hawthorne House, #4) by Kristi Ann Hunter)
3: read a book that starts with the letter F (for Four/4)
Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. Have fun guys!
Next category will be called: 3/21
I'm not sure yet what I'll read. I may do the Kristi Anne Hunter one (book 4 in the Hawthorne House series). We'll see. There's another one I may do as well.
Hopefully I can knock out the Refuge Assured by the end of the weekend.
Also, I will be out of the country from April 7 -12 and will not be able to get online. This is just a heads up.

Also don't forget to check in.

Flower hasn't been called yet. :) That was just the example used in the rules. Sorry for any confusion...

Key (2)
Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a KEY on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is the 2nd book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter T (for Two/2)
Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked into the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!
Next category will be called: 3/28
Also, per the notes on the other thread, if a book starts with the word "The", it'll count.

I still need to finish my book for category #1. I'm sorry that I've gotten behind on this challenge. I'm going to try to catch up this weekend.
Also, any recs for this third challenge would be great. I'm still trying to find a book for that one.

Some possibilities:

Would this one work for key? It's 128 pages, not a picture book, though there are pictures in it.

The link takes you to the book page, but for whatever reason it may not be showing yet. I emailed the publisher about it. And she had to find it via ISBN.

I looked at the book on Amazon and it is fine. The book works for Key, since it starts with The. :)

There's a key on the cover and in the title.

The Fourth category is...
Book or letter (2)
Options for completing this category:

2: read a book that is the 2nd book in its series
3: read a book that starts with the letter T (for Two/2)

Could I get a little clarification on the Book OR Letter portion of this? When you say letter, are you talking about a letter like you would get from a pen pal (mailed, envelope, etc)?

Or would words on the cover that are not part of the title count? This is the one I'm thinking of here.

There is writing (I think it's part of a quote from CS Lewis) on the cover at the top.

I was talking about a letter that you would receive in the mail/be given, but both of those would work, as the words look like a written letter.
