Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is full of interesting characters. It’s easy to love them all, or love to hate when talking about the Evil Queen. The only ones we get to see working though are the Dwarfs, down in their mines they dig and dig finding diamonds and rubies. But there are so many beautiful gems they could be mining, not to mention the metals we use for setting those gems into our favorite jewelry.

You need to preselect a level for this challenge, but are free to move to a higher level if your reading time allows. When using the cover/color option, more than 50% of the cover needs to be the color or colors for the book to qualify for that category. There is no minimum page count for this challenge. Rereads and audiobooks are allowed. The bonus can be added to any level and you can read just one or all five bonus categories.

Q & A

Nicole wrote: "MountainKat, for the Bonus challenges, is it one word per book? So for example if I find silver, copper and iron in one book I can only use one?"

Oh good question - one word per book. I will add that, thank you!

LaurLa wrote: "MKat, Can you explain what you mean by this task: Apatite - Gemstone of communication. Read a book with at least two of blue, green or gold on the cover... 2 of what? 2 items or 2 'spots' of any of those colors? Something like these? "

Hi LaurLa. What I meant, and will go clarify, is at least two of the colors. So you would need blue and green or green and gold or blue and gold or all three on the cover. And it would need to amount to more than half the cover.

So, Too Much Temptation doesn't work for Apatite because it is only shades of blue. But Anything for You does work because you have the blue on his clothes, the sky and the water, green on the tree and grass, even gold on the author's name and the hay. And all together, that is more than half the cover. I hope that helps!

CHALLENGE COMPLETE

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1190 comments Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Quarterly Challenge
March 15, 2018 through June 14th, 2018

Oh good question - one word per book. I will add that, thank you!

And must the word be in the context of the actual precious metal or can it be used to describe say the colour of a characters hair or eyes?

It just has to be used, doesn't have to refer to the metal. Someone could just need to iron a shirt or have platinum hair.

LaurLa | 5085 comments MKat, Can you explain what you mean by this task: Apatite - Gemstone of communication. Read a book with at least two of blue, green or gold on the cover... 2 of what? 2 items or 2 'spots' of any of those colors? Something like these?

Anything for You (Blue Heron, #5) by Kristan Higgins
2 blue items: blue shirt and blue jeans

Too Much Temptation (Brava Brothers, #1) by Lori Foster
2 shades of blue

That does help and I surely did misread that didn't I???? Thanks for clarfying :-)

I added 'colors' to the description for the stone after your question. It just said 'Read a book with at least two of blue, green or gold on the cover' before, not as clear. =)

Bookchaser | 2019 comments MountainKat... I have a question...

Regarding... Sneezy - Read a book where an illness or disability is part of the story.

Does the H or h have to be the character who has the illness or disability?

I just finished listening to Starlight on Willow Lake (Lakeshore Chronicles, #11) by Susan Wiggs . The H's mother is trying to adjust to becoming a quadriplegic and the H has hired the h to be a caretaker for her. Is that good enough for this category?
