Our second continued series of the month is Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. (We had a tie during our poll so it was decided that 2 books for our continued series would be picked.)

Summary:
This second novel begins in 1940, immediately after the first book ended. Having escaped Miss Peregrine’s island by the skin of their teeth, Jacob and his new friends must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other unexpected surprises.

Complete with dozens of newly discovered (and thoroughly mesmerising) vintage photographs, this new adventure will delight readers of all ages.

Let us know if you will be joining us for this book of the month. We would love to hear your opinions.

I read this one last year but I’m excited to get it under our belt because I’m hoping we will read the next in the series as a group soon. I haven’t read that one yet and I’m eager to get to it. A lot happened in this installment and I think I may have even liked it better than the first though it was a bit long. This is one of the few series with interdimentional travel that doesn’t get under my skin.

I wasn't a very big fan of this, I thought the first book was good and the rest barely held my attention. I know that isn't the popular opinion.

Farren (mmmcookies) This was my least favorite in the series, and I didn't think Library of Souls was a whole lot better than this one. If they had combined them into one book and shortened it I think it would have been a lot more interesting. I love the first book, and (unpopular opinion time) I thought the movie was fantastic. If only this book would have had a skeleton-vs-hollow fight....

I’m definitely hoping for a quicker pace in the last book. I’m at the point where I just want to get the series over with. Though I’m still optimistic that it could go out with a bang.
