Not a huge spoiler :)
A mage, not entirely sane & using the name Gully, later Otak (true name Irioth), wanders around volunteering as a healer. He rents a room with a widow named Gift (Emer). Some of the locals take a dislike to him.
A late appearance by Ged, who tells a little backstory.
A kind of small, local story.
