Go Ask Alice discussion

Go Ask Alice, written anonymously, is a story about a girl who finds relief in her journal where she pours out all of her deepest and darkest secrets. Throughout the book, readers are placed into her life and follow her story through her diary entries. Alice is faced with many hardships in her life leading her to rely on drugs and the approval of guys. The entire novel consists of her falling in and out of her addiction and struggling to find her self worth. I really enjoyed this novel because I was able to step into her shoes and live her life. She shared so many details that it almost made it feel like I was there with her. I think this was a very important and relevant book because as we grow up, we will be faced with these temptations and this book provides a beautiful example of why life is so much better if we stay away from these things. It helps readers learn the consequences that drugs can bring. Happiness can be found in so many other things besides drugs. I would recommend this novel to anyone because it portrays a girl who is just simply trying to fit in and live life just as everyone else is. But unfortunately, she is constantly judged and hated for the mistakes she makes, or for the ones that she does not make. This book is emotional, personal, interesting, and is definitely worth the read.
