Not being much of an expert on Crime Writers apart from Candice Fox and Michael (Robotham )? I did a bit of a search and discovered this author. This would definitely appeal to me.

I'd like to nominate The Marmalade Files by Steve Lewis, Chris Uhlmann. It's a political satire rather than strictly crime fiction, although crimes, including a murder, are committed. It is on a crime shelf, written by 2 Australian journalists and it's set in Canberra.
