Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments What do you think of Lysandra - her profession and her rivalry with Celaena?

message 2: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 83 comments They were two girls competing for attention so the rivalry felt understandable to me.
As for her profession I think she never knew anything else and tries to make the best of it by being the best/prettiest.

Melissa (melissasd) | 194 comments Both girls are extremely spoiled and neither of them chose what they are doing. The rivalry is something that all girls have at that age. Especially when a boy is involved.

Arobynn played them against each other and then threw Sam into the mix. They’re all trying to curry favor with him because he’s got everything set up to pit them all against one another. At some point, he’ll toss poor Lysandra to the side once her novelty wears off, just as he’s done with Celaena.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Jealousy plays a significant role here although to my mind Celaena has the upper hand both in terms of Sam's feelings and Arobynn's agenda.

Lysandra is nothing more than a pretty bauble to be sold to the highest bidder. Celaena commands more respect.

I actually felt sorry for Lysandra.
