Zac (zackids) | 18 comments Missing is the taut, twisty story of Mackenzie whose mum has been missing for more than 3 months. Her mum is a scientist and was on a trip researching bats in Panama when she went missing. The story jumps between the present day, when Mackenzie’s dad whisks her away in the middle of the night to travel to Panama (114 days after her mum has gone missing), back to the days leading up to her Mum going missing and the weeks following. We learn at the start of the book that Mackenzie has a theory about her Mum and doesn’t want her to be found, but how has she come to this conclusion? The pieces of the puzzle fall in to place as you furiously turn the pages.

I don’t think it would read aloud well but it would be perfect for those Year 7/8 kids (especially girls) who want a fast-paced story with twists.
