Dale Hanson had been Adam’s mentor for most of his life. How could he have missed this man’s lack of a moral center? Why do you think Adam missed seeing Wyatt’s true nature?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Adam was more centered on comparing Dale as a father figure, I think. Wyatt must have been crafty as a kid. Maybe he didn't know the precursor stuff that would have been a give-away.

Poor Adam. He had no one and I imagine Dale just being kind was a smorgasbord for the deep hunger he felt. Compared to his father, Wyatt’s meanness was nothing.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Compared to Adam's father, Dale was a prince. A least, that's what Adam grew up believing. Adam was so hungry for friendship and affection I thing he overlooked and discounted things Wyatt did.

Yeah, I don’t think he even saw it or maybe thought he was being funny.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments A kid needs to believe that someone cares about them. Adam didn't want to think that Wyatt didn't have his back.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Glad that we saw these elements the same....

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 52 comments Adam had so many problems because of his father, and he was blinded by transferring his hunger for love and affirmation to Wyatt's father Dale. And Wyatt was part of the package. Sociopaths are very good at hiding their true personalities as well. Poor Adam, he did it tough.

You’re right about that sociopath behavior, Lisa. Those around them look for the normal stuff and can’t imagine that what they’re seeing could be the unthinkable.
