I read the original edition, which has a purple cover, but I have another book waiting for that category.
The author, who is of an Afghani-Jewish background has loved to read forever. After a discussion with her best friend about whether Cathie of Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre is the better role model, the author, Samantha Ellis, started rereading all her favorite heroine novels from her childhood and youth, and discussed the various ways they influenced her as heroines. Although each chapter is titled according to an appropriate heroine, she delves through numerous other heroines of the same type, some of which I haven't read yet, so this is a great impulse to read some more.

I bet this would give me a whole bunch of books that I haven't gotten around to reading yet.
