Along Came a Spider question

I am trying to build up my Alex Cross collection and started by reading Along Came a Spider. Recently I picked up the next two books, also hardcovers but when I got home I noticed they are bigger than the one I already had. Why are they different sizes, and how can I get the smaller hardcover for the remaining books. Thanks!
